Terrible Instinct
I ran through yet another dark corridor. I was in search for you but you were nowhere to be found. It seemed like a maze. As I ran I allowed my fingertips to move over the walls to the left and right of me. The walls were made of brick; they were so rough under my fingertips as I traced every impurity it seemed to contain. Every hole, dent and chip in those walls led me forward. I had no flashlight to lead the way just a sick instinct to move forward.
It felt as if I was here for hours. Every footstep that I took seemed excruciatingly loud. I attempted to seem inaudible even in the slightest but failed.
I began to become impatient. The lights that hung above me swung back and forward allowing a creek every now and then. I felt the air move around my feet in a chilling breeze. From farther away I heard a continuous rhythm of thumps. The closer I seemed to walk the more noises seemed to reveal themselves. I heard dripping to my left. I quickly turned my current course and followed that instinct again.
I'm so sick of this terrible instinct.
I heard rushed whispers in the atmosphere but not a figure to match. I hurried. It seemed wasteful as an attempt. I hid behind boxes of merchandise. I could finally see a figure and began to run towards it.
As I got to your location I backed away, hand over my slightly ajar mouth. I…I was shocked at the image that stood before me or dare I say, hang before me.
This sight before me was gruesome; it seemed to be a crime of hate. Your wrists were fastened tightly with a chain. The chains left indents in your wrists that seemed to penetrate through your skin. Your face has slashes all over it and your hair was all in your face. Your face hung low as droplets of crimson blood slowly, rhythmically, continued to fall. Your legs swung slightly as small gust of air passed.
I ran. I ran like the coward I truly was. I wish I could go back. All I did was call for help and leave, escape from what I didn't understand.
A/N:
Well I'd like to thank the song No One by Cold.
It gave me some insperation to write something.
