Disclaimer: I don't own KHR. Can that be any more obvious?
Gokudera was eating ice cream with Tsuna. The tenth Vongola boss and his friend were laughing and chatting as they sat on a bench under the sakura trees.
"Gokudera-kun," Tsuna said suddenly, "I officially proclaim you as my right-hand – "
Riiiing. Gokudera woke up with a start. He groaned and buried his face in his pillow. Why did some idiot have to wake him up from that dream? And why at the best part?
He looked at the digital clock next to his bed; it was two in the morning. He swore and picked up the phone, wondering what kind of person called someone at 2 AM.
"What do you want?" Gokudera snarled into the phone.
"Ahaha! Why are you so mad?" a cheerful voice asked.
Gokudera smacked his forehead. Of course it was the baseball idiot. He was the only person who lacked enough brains to go around calling people at the most god-awful times.
"You idiot! Do you have any idea what time it is?"
"Um, wait a sec… It's two o'clock," Yamamoto said as if it were perfectly normal to call people at that time.
"Yes! It's two in the morning! This had better be important, or I'll blow your stupid head up tomorrow!"
"Okay, okay. I just wanted to ask who 'batch' is."
Gokudera stared blankly even though he knew Yamamoto couldn't see him.
"'Batch'? What the heck is that?"
"Oh, wait a sec. I pronounced it wrong. It's 'back'."
"Okay, so let me get this straight. You want to ask me who's back, right? Back from where? I didn't know anyone even left."
"Oh, oops. I was still pronouncing it wrong." Yamamoto's familiar laugh bubbled from the phone.
Gokudera nearly ripped his hair out in frustration. Why was it so hard to communicate with Yamamoto?
"Just hurry up! Some people actually like to sleep!"
"Mah, mah, you don't have to be so impatient. Anyways, I finally figured out how to use the pronunciation key. It's 'Bach'."
Blank stare.
"Bach?"
"Yeah. Johann Sebastian Bach."
Hair pulling.
"You called me at two in the morning to ask me about some guy who you can look up on the Internet."
"Well, my computer broke, so I decided to ask you, since you play the piano."
"What am I, an encyclopedia? Where'd you find that name anyways? Why do you think it's important enough to wake someone up at two?"
"Ah, you see, I decided to read about some other hobbies, since you always say that I'm an idiot who only knows about baseball, so I found a book about piano playing and the first guy they talked about was Bach. The problem is, I don't get what they're saying, so I wanted to ask you to dumb it down for me."
Gokudera ground his teeth.
"What exactly do you want to know?" he asked, mentally assembling a list of different ways to kill Yamamoto the next day.
"Just basic info. You know, birth, death, nationality, style, famous works. You know, basic stuff."
Gokudera sighed.
"And you swear you'll leave me alone after I tell you?"
"Yep."
"Okay. Listen closely, 'cause I'm not going to tell you again. Johann Sebastian Bach was born in 1685 and died on July 28, 1750. He was German, and was a Baroque composer."
"Baroque?"
"Don't interrupt me! The Baroque period was a period of European music that lasted from about 1600 to 1700. Anyways, Bach wrote various pieces for solo instruments, voices, duets, and larger groups of singers. Some of his most famous compositions are Suite No. 2 in B minor, Schafe konnen sicher weiden, Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 in G Major, Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor, and Tocatta in D minor. Now go away and let me go to sleep."
"Wow, you're so smart!"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever."
"Well, um, thanks."
Gokudera rolled his eyes. When was this idiot going to hang up?
"Hang up or I'll hang up on you."
"Okay, okay. Bye."
Gokudera hung up.
A/N: This was written using the prompt "2 AM" from 64damn_prompts. It's not that good and the title sucked, but reviews would be appreciated!
