A lot of things in life—and I mean really good things at that—require time and patience. Things like waiting for a pie to bake or fish to bite or a birthday to roll around. Try to rush it and you just might ruin the whole experience.
But just because things can take a long time, doesn't mean minutes and seconds don't count. Thirty seconds can mean the difference between winning a race or coming in last. It's enough time for a photographer to get a great shot or miss it completely. And, as anyone who knows my family can tell you, thirty seconds can mean life or death when dealing with explosives.
The higher the level of skill and precision needed, the more seconds matter. Which is why you should never listen to Jack when he says being thirty seconds older isn't enough to make a real difference.
Disclaimer: I don't own Jack. Nor Mac or their respective franchises.
