Cairngorm has been preparing for this.

They have everything set up. Be at the Hollow Cap at the crack of dawn, no weapon… And have the gift ready.

The gift was the hardest part. Moving it during the night without alerting the others was difficult, but they had gotten to the agreed destination. Just in time, too. The sun was starting to rise over the horizon and with it, a sunspot.

A vessel soon came out of the sunspot; there was a large amount of sundries waving flags, tossing petals, and playing instruments. Cairn swallowed down the instinct to fight, instead raising their hands to show they kept the promise of no weapons. Watching ropes being thrown down for the sundries, doubts tried to swirl through their head but was soon dashed away.

They had made this choice. And they weren't gonna let themselves back out of it.

As the sundries came over to them, Cairn pulled the sheet covering the gift off. The sundries looked particularly excited over it and soon began work to move it up to the vessel.

Yeah, Cairn thought, No going back now.

Morganite's room was next to Phos' room. As they got themselves ready for the day, they went over to check on Phos' body.

Phos was gone.

When Morga saw that, they woke everyone up and alerted them to Phos' disappearance. Cairn was missing too, their room as empty as Phos'. Everyone got their uniforms and got Sensei, beginning to search for Phos and Cairn.

Cairn watched as the sundries placed Phos' body in the visage's bowl. It took them all of their will not to lash out as they ran their hands over Phos. Their legs, the gold that made up their arms, and the naked stone around the seam of their body and Lapis' head.

As the vessel began to close, they caught sight of something.

It was everyone. All of them running towards the vessel. Their faces all had the same expressions. Fear, anger.

Disappointment.

But it was too late, the vessel began to fly off.

Lapis, Ghost… Cairngorm was going to join them soon.
