The sun was shining on the training yard while the next generation of Shepherds trained. Although they had not had a war since the Grima event, cause of this there had been an increase in crime due to the war. Because of this, most guards had been put to work with very little, and in some cases, no training at all. Despite this the Shepherds were in a good mood due to what a small group of them were talking about instead of training "So, they caught the man who was burning down houses last night?" asked Laurent, curious about the news he heard earlier.
"Oh, you mean the one who burned down a house every full moon?" Nah asked back while looking up from her book.
"Yeah, that one," Laurent asked checking his glasses
"If you ask me, that guy was crazy." Inigo cheerfully chimed in as he sat down next to Nah and joined the conversation.
"What was your first clue, the fact that he burned down houses with people in them or that he liked burning down houses with people in them?" snapped Nah.
"It was more of the fact that he kept saying a Wyvern was what caught him," Inigo said with a confused face.
"Actually, if I remember, he said it was a Wyvernman that caught him," Laurent said, "and plus , all the criminals recently caught said something along those lines."
"Think they're telling the truth?" asked Inigo
"Does it matter? There is no such thing as a Wyvernman, and why are you three just sitting there?" Princess Lucina yelled as she walked into the training yard.
"Sorry Lucy, but what's wrong with you?" Nah apologized as Lucina got closer.
"Nothing, just a fight with mom, and he's here," sighed Lucina, "Anyway, where's Morgan?" Lucina asked as she realized her cousin was not there.
"Uh, she ran off as soon as she found out Gerome was here." Nah said while not looking at Lucina.
It was common knowledge Lucina hated Gerome, and her cousin Morgan had a huge crush on him.
"Ugh, of all the guys she could have picked, why him?" groaned Lucina while shaking her head.
"He is not that bad," Laurent stated trying to calm down Lucina.
"He is a lot better than Inigo," Nah stated.
"HEEEYYY!" Inigo shouted.
The exact reason Lucina hated Gerome was quite known to most of the current Shepherds, Gerome's parents fought in the last war. Unlike everybody else, though, Gerome's parents died in an attack on his village after the war, right in front of him, to be exact. When they died, they left everything to Gerome, who, instead of joining the Shepherds, used the fortune on other things, from making weapons to fixing houses. And this was the reason Lucina hated him so much: she believed he was a coward who would rather use money to get out of problems than actually fight.
"Where is he, anyway?" Nah asked.
"Who, Gerome? He's in the Main Hall with Dad," Cynthia said out of nowhere.
"Cynthia, how long have you been there?"
"A while. Anyway, Lucina, Mom wants you."
"What for?"
"I don't know, but she seemed mad. What did you do?"
"Probably about earlier, where is she?"
"Main hall, same as Dad and Gerome."
"Fine, better go see what she wants."
And with that Lucina left to go see her mom, but before she left she yelled, "And get back to training, guys."
The main hall of Castle Ylisse was as grand as it was years ago when the current exalt's sister was in charge. However, the way events where going on in the hall you would not know it.
"Lucina, you will say sorry NOW!" Sumia yelled at her oldest daughter, who had just yelled a three-letter insult with the word hole at the light blue haired young man in the room.
"Sorry Gerome," Gerome knew that was the best he would get from Lucina, so he took it.
"Already forgiven, Your Highness." Gerome responded politely. Despite what Lucina thought, he still had manners, and that was already more than Lucina gave him credit for.
"Now that that's over, do you have any more business or have you finished for the day?" Chrom asked, tired of the long day's work.
"Yes, I believe that is all for now," Gerome answered.
"Good, then you can spend the rest of the day with me," Princess Morgan chimed in as she jumped out of nowhere and jumped onto Gerome's arm.
"M-Morgan, how long have you been here?" Chrom asked at the surprise appearance of his sister's daughter.
"A while. So, Gerome, ready to go?" the cheerful princess asked.
"Uh, I don't know, Your Highness, but I think you should let go; your brother looks like he is gonna kill me," Gerome said quickly while blushing somewhat.
Morgan's older brother, Owain, was in the room, and while no one understood him most of the time, it was well-known that he was an over protective big brother to Morgan.
However, before he could do anything, Gerome's friend and servant Creed came running into the hall. As soon as he caught his breath, he looked around until he found Gerome and said, "Sir, I am sorry for stopping your meeting, but something has happened with the workers that requires your attention."
"Slow down, Creed. I'll come with you to help solve the problem." Gerome said at once, knowing what Creed really meant.
"Hey, you're supposed to take me on a date," Morgan yelled at once when Gerome tried to leave.
"Oh, I am so sorry, Princess Morgan. I promise Master Gerome will go on a date with you tomorrow," Creed said without knowing the full story.
"Creed!" Gerome yelled, but before he could say anything else-
"I'll hold both of you to that," yelled Morgan.
"Fine, come on, Creed," said Gerome, "I will deal with you later." Gerome said the last part under his breath so only Creed could hear it.
"What did I do?" asked a confused Creed as they left.
After they left, Queen Sumia made to yell at her daughter some more, but before she could, one of Chrom's knights came running in.
"Chrom, we have a huge problem," Stahl yelled as he came running in.
"Stahl, calm down. What happened?" Chrom said, feeling déja-vu.
"There is a huge riot at the prison," Stahl yelled to the shocked people in the main hall.
The sun had just started to set by the time Gerome and Creed had returned to the manor.
"So, what requires my attention?" Gerome asked as he and Creed ran inside and towards the basement.
"I overheard this from one of the knights while I was waiting for you: there seems to be a breakout out at the prison due to some bandits attacking it," Creed explained as they ran into the cellar.
"Did you find out which bandit gang it was attacking the prison?" Gerome asked as he turned a stone bottle to show a hidden trapdoor.
"Uh, no, I kinda went looking for you when I heard that part," Creed said while feeling like an idiot for not finding that out.
"Come on then, let's go. We've got work to do," Gerome said, not really caring that Creed missed that part as he climbed down the ladder with Creed following him.
Gerome Manor was built on a cliff which gave a beautiful view of the ocean with a ton of waterfalls behind it. However, behind one of the waterfalls was a cave where the ladder that Gerome and Creed were climbing came out.
While Creed said something like "Home sweet Wyvern Cave," Gerome went into the small back room in the cave where a chest lay. Wyvern Cave, as Creed had called it, was the perfect hideout, seeing as the cave was big enough to not only accommodate Minerva (a wyvern Gerome had inherited from his mother when she died), but also a bunch other gear from a magic crystal ball and mirror that had a ton of uses, from being able to see everywhere in the manor to allowing to spy on people for certain reasons to the training yard Gerome and Creed used to try the new gear. The cave itself was built into the cliff the Manor was on and, since no would climb it, the sharp rocks and the dangerous tide at the bottom made it almost impossible to get to from the outside.
While Gerome was getting ready, Creed started to get Minerva ready. Creed was one of the few people who could understand her and that she would let get close to her. Creed himself had been fond of her since he was little. While petting her, Creed told her, "Be sure to take care of the Master: he has a date tomorrow."
"Creed, don't tell her that!" yelled a voice deeper than Gerome's.
As Creed turned around, Gerome was standing behind him, but, instead of his noble clothes, Gerome was wearing dark armor with a symbol that looked like a wyvern and with a mask that covered all of his face except for his mouth. Gerome also wore a belt with a bunch of gear on it. Wyvernman had taken Gerome's place.
"Nice suit. You all set? Or is there anything else you need, sir ?" Creed asked while checking the suit to make sure everything was ready.
"Nothing at the moment, but I will have you send anything I need later," Wyvernman said as he got on top of Minerva.
"Sir, try not to stay out too late. I don't know how I will explain to Princess Morgan that you can't go on that date because you spent the night dressed up as a Wyvern," Creed joked before his friend left.
However, no laugh came from Wyvernman as he flew out of the cave and towards the prison. Creed got settled in front of the crystal ball and mirror said to himself, "That man has no sense of humor."
First things first Huge thanks to the Erudite for his help on this, check him out he has one the best Robin/Anna fanfic ever
Well here the first chapter to my new story Wyvernman. Part Fire Emblem ,part Batman Arkham games.Truth be told I am really surprised no else had done this before seeing as everybody keeps making Batman jokes with Gerome in them. Now here are the villains from the batman comic I am goanna have in here and not really change them except in certain areas where I have to due to the time difference. This is the order they are goanna appear be in the story. Joker: cause you can not have batman with out him.The Riddler: since he is my favorite batman villain. Scarecrow: since he is the main villain in Arkham Knight. I may do a Arkham knight story when the game comes out but it all depend on the Arkham Knight himself and if could make a story out of him. And to the people I asked who said I should call him Dragonman I am sorry but it made more sense as I found out the difference between Dragons and Wyverns to call him that. Now I am still goanna work on the other story Royal heart but I am goanna put some more chapters on here first . Try after 5 chapter here then I am goanna work on that one until review away
