A/N: Okay, so to avoid last night's disaster regarding Kachiro's birthday, I'm going to post this now, and edit later instead, so it at least gets published the third. Why don't I just post it earlier? Well, seeing as I've been away the entire day and got home at like 12.30 PM, I didn't have the time to write. So there.

Anyways, today is Rin-Rin's birthday!! Happy birthday, Rin! You gotta love that guy, and Yuujiroh really grows on you, too. This time, a pairing is established and official. This is rare in my stories, especially the birthday ones. Well, except Silver and Perfect pair. But come on, they're canon.

IMPORTANT NOTE! This is not complete, look at it like a teaser for the final one, which will come in about half an hour. Thank you.

Surprise?

"Rin-Rin?" Kai Yuujiroh called out to the locker room as he searched for his boyfriend. The blonde boy had failed to meet up at practice, despite telling Kite that he would show up. Even if today happened to be his birthday. Kei had even stated that Hirakoba was in the locker room when he left. Yet, the smaller player had never shown up at the actual practice.

"Yo?" he tried again, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "Rin? You here?"

Still no answer. Kai pouted and dropped his bag to the floor, causing a loud 'thump' sound. The locker room was dark, the lights turned off and those ugly twenty-years old curtains hiding the windows. Kai could still spot the clothes and bags of his teammates, who was still at practice. He himself had excused himself, claiming that he was 'not feeling well'. Kite, who fortunately was in no mood for training himself, let him go without a second thought. Kai was so glad that it was one of those days. Any other, and he would have been forced to run laps until the end of the practice for showing signs of weakness. As Kite would have so brutally phrased it.

"Rin?" he tried yet again, growing frustrated as he spotted said blonde's bag on its usual spot. "I know you're here. Or... I don't, but I think you are!"

Still no reply. He peered around the corner, hoping to possibly get a glance of blond hair. Nothing.

"Seriously, if you're not coming out, I'm leaving without giving you your birthday present!" Of course, it was an empty threat. Kai would be equally, if not more, disappointed than Hirakoba if he had to leave without handing the smaller boy his birthday treat.

Kai sighed in resignation. No sign of life anywhere. As he was about to leave, a thought struck him.

'You better be in here, Rin,' he thought to himself as he opened the door to the showers.

This room was, like the rest of the locker room, clenched in darkness, though the stark whiteness of the tiles made it easier to look around than the previous room.

Kai squinted his eyes, and looked around carefully. Much to his contentment, he found a pile of white and purple clothing in the corner, complete with a blonde mop of hair on top.

"Rin-Rin!" he called in delight as he ran over to his boyfriend. "I've been looking for you everywhere! Are you - "

He promptly stomped as he approached the crumpled form on the ground, his eyes widening in horror.

"Oh my god," he whispered slowly. "Is that – is that blood?"
