2010 MISSING SCENE

A/N: This is Daniels POV. I wrote this not long after the episode 2010 aired. I also posted it here awhile back and then took it off. So if you're wondering why it looks so familiar? That's Why!

I stood close behind my wife Janet as she stood at the doorway to our 6 year old daughters room and watched her sleep. "So, peaceful." I heard her whisper to herself. I then wrapped my arms around her waist. She sighed and at that moment the tears that she'd been holding in all day suddenly started to stream down her face. I held her tight, I didn't have to ask what was wrong, I already knew. It was the same thing that concerned me. Janet and Sam had recently found out that the Aschen, our supposed saviors, had decreased the fertility rate by 90all around the world. In other words the Aschen are trying to wipe us out. Now were planning on saving Earth (hopefully) by sending a note back in time to warn ourselves before we make an alliance with the Aschen.

I know she's scared that if this works we may never get married and if we never get married Angela our daughter will never exist. Of course we'll never know the difference if this works.

"Mommy, Daddy?" Angela says as she pokes her head up from under covers. "What are you doing?"

"Oh, nothing sweetheart." Janet says as she moves up to the bed to sit by our daughter. "Go, back to sleep" I moved to the other side of her bed and sat down.

"You and daddy seem sad." Angela said.

"No honey, were fine. We've just had a hard day." I explained to her as I smoothed back her hair.

At that moment Angela decided to get out of bed and go straight for her toy box.

"Honey, you need to go to bed." Janet told her.

"I'm not tired any more." Angela protested.

Janet and I both sighed. We had to go through this with her every night and we had already gone through it with her once this evening. But, it didn't seem to bother us tonight. This could be the last night we'll ever be together as a family. We walked over to where Angela was playing with her toys and sat down beside her. All night the three of us played together. At around 3:00 in the morning Angela finally fell asleep. We tried to go to sleep ourselves but we couldn't. We just kept thinking about Angela and us and whether or not we'll succeed in this mission to stop the Aschen.

The End
