Disclaimer: I do not own High School Musical or any affiliated characters.

Author's Note: So this is just a random very short one shot that started out LilyxJames. Now it's an implied Troyella. But, since I have used no names you can make it any pairing your little heart desires. Hope you enjoy!

She saw him at the end of the hallway, waiting for her, in that old leather jacket of his—the one he left in her room after the night—casually leaning against the wall. He smirked when she sighed and started to walk over to him, and he watched her as she began to speak.

"What are you doing here?" She snapped, and before waiting for an answer, she commanded, "Leave."

He smiled his smile—the one that made her go weak in the knees—and then shook his head in a soft chuckle. She watched his chest go up and down slightly and heard the deep rumble of his laugh. He threw an arm around her shoulders.

"Walk with me, love, talk with me." He began leading her in the direction she was originally going, so she had no choice but to walk alongside him.

"Why won't you go out with me? All I'm asking for is one date. It's not going to kill you." He said, and she now knew why he stayed behind.

"I don't know…we're really different and all…" She trailed off, not finishing her thought. Truth be told, she didn't even have a real reason. But when she did, she would make sure that he would be the first to know.

"So you won't go out with me even though we've already made l—"

"Shush!" She hissed, glaring at him. Though no one was around, she didn't want him to say it out loud.

"Oh, I forgot." His eyes were gleaming, "We can't let the school know that their sweetheart is actually a slut." He smirked again.

She tensed immediately, and he noticed. She wriggled out from underneath his arm, and he didn't object. She glanced at him for just a moment, but that didn't change the fact that he saw the hurt in her eyes.

"I'm sorry." His tone softened, "That was uncalled for." She didn't move as he stepped toward her, even though she knew she shouldn't have let him…

He wrapped his arms around her tiny frame, kissed her forehead, and whispered something barely audible that she made out to be along the lines of "be good" into her hair.

It was quite unexpected.

Then he continued to walk down the hall, leaving her staring after him, wondering when, exactly, he had changed.

Maybe she would go out with him after all.

AN: Um, yeah, so that was...okay. It was a little rushed, but it wrote it pretty fast. Reviews would be lovely.
