I'm re-writing the Missing Adventure because I feel like it was poorly written. If you haven't seen how poorly written it was, lucky you D Enjoy the newer version!

Disclaimer: I own nothing by Tamora Pierce.

A/N: This will become an A/J story…just a warning to you all.

"Jonathan, you are overreacting! Just let-"

"No! This is final, Alanna. George said no, I say no, so therefore you cannot go on another adventure!" Jonathan of Conte stated firmly.

Fuming at her memories of the previous day as they flooded her thoughts, she spurred her horse on faster. Her burly companion looked at her in alarm, but she didn't care. She wanted to get out of her cage as soon as possible.

Her one chance at freedom before she got married was crushed. In a month or so she would be married to the former thief Baron George of Pirate's Swoop. Although she agreed to be married, she did not agree to be tied down by pins and needles in a dress! It was also no help that her marriage would be one of the hugest marriages in Corus alongside her best friend, Jonathan's, marriage to the former Princess, Thayet jian Wilima. She needed an escape and fast.

I will leave for Corus no matter what George or Jon say. I didn't become a Lady Knight for nothing! I did not spent hours working on my fighting skills to be treated as though I went to that blasted convent for stupid lady lessons!

Her lips pulled down in a snarl. Curse Jonathan and his stupid thoughts about her needing to be tied down. She tried to focus on the sandy dunes before her instead of the thoughts.

"To hell with your orders, Jon! I am not some prissy little lady who curtsies and flirts with the men! I am a knight, and I should be allowed to roam. Jonathan, this is really stupid! Why make an exception for just me? Remember when Sacherell of Wellam got married? You allowed him to at least exit Corus and his fief! He was even allowed to fight off the bandits. This is so unfair. I may be a woman, but even women in this land have rights," she shouted.

"Alanna, calm down,"

"Calm down, youare telling me to calm down?! You have no idea-"

" Sacherell was able to leave from his marriage because he was on border duty and I felt it necessary that he should be able to go. I could trust that he would return in time for the major decision makings of the marriage and the marriage itself. I had no idea if you would come back. You have such a thirst for adventures and roaming, and I did not know if you would listen and come back, "he lectured her.

"How dare you assume! I am a very loyal and trustworthy person, and I would listen to George or you! I obviously thought that you would know me well enough, but I am wrong. I'm going out, and you can't stop me!"She gave him one last violet cold stare and stomped out of the door banging the door when she left.

"Lass, did you ask the tribe folk if we're allowed t' stay?" Coram asked breaking her out of her thoughts.

"Umm," she mumbled while looking uncomfortable. Worried about the reports that would come to Jonathan if she told the tribe beforehand, she decided that it would be best to trespass on their hospitality. She was, after all, their previous shaman.

"I take tha' as a no. Alanna, if we're t' stay w'th them, we should' a givin' 'em a notice."

She stopped Moonlight and looked up ahead. If her eyesight was as good as it was years ago then maybe she saw a few wisps of smoke from behind the larger sand dunes.

Grabbing the reins and kicking her horse to gallop forward, she looked behind and called, "Guess we're about to find out!"

Coram shook his head and kicked his horse into a gallop to follow her while musing about the nerve of young knights.

It took them until a few hours after nightfall for them to reach the tribe. After settling the horses, she followed Coram to the fire in the center of the village. Her eyes lit up as she saw who tended the fire.

The old woman gave them a warm smile. "Ah, young ones, I have been awaiting your arrivals. Sit and warm yourselves while I shall find out where your tents are." She got up to leave Coram and herself some time to warm up.

"I've not seen you before. Who 're you?" Coram asked.

"I am Farda," the old woman said, sitting down at her original spot near the fire. "I have been in this tribe for about a year now. They needed a mage to foresee any bad omen so they can prepare for it. I have strange magic with omens as I can tell if there will be good or bad fortunes lurking in the future. I will say no more, for you have had a tiring journey. Especially the petite one here."

Alanna felt the heat creep up to her cheeks as she remembered her wild and reckless ride four days after the fight.

"Come. I will show you your tents."

Motioning to Coram that the woman was safe, she followed the old woman to her tent. Afterwards, Coram was shown his tent which was next to hers.

She entered the tent and laid her pack and only unpacked a bedroll and an extra set of clothes so that she could leave at exactly sunrise to evade the tribe's questions. Them seeing her would be hard to conceal from the Voice, and she wasn't looking forward to taking down the soldiers she worked with.

As they both lay down on their bedrolls, they listened as the old woman's footsteps gradually faded away. Both fell asleep knowing that they would need to awaken the next morning very early for their big journey.
