Author's Note Inspired by the scene in Wrath of the Ninja where Ayame and Kikiyo are sitting by the river bank.
Ayame
When in the twilight air
And in the stillness of the garden,
And sitting amongst the tall grasses of the river
She tells the tale of her childhood loss
She sheds tears and I as well
She laments her brother's death
And wishes it were her own.
I touch her shoulder lightly,
And tell her, "Your journey will not be made alone."
