"Sorry about the car." BJ tells his wife once again as they climb into the trolley and what he suspects was the last transportation of the evening. Their car two blocks away the engine completely dead.
"It's fine honey. It wasn't your fault, these things happen." She squeezes his hand trying in the pressure to ensure him she really is fine, that she isn't upset. She knew her husband too well. He blames himself, it is his fault, he's suppose to control the rain and sunshine to make everything perfect. If anything even things he had no control over such a fifteen year old car dying after midnight he chalks that up as a failure on his part.
"I should have taken it to Reed's Garage last Tuesday." BJ mutters to himself. Peg sighs knowing better than saying anything else.
"I'm happy it broke down. It's such a beautiful night." She turns towards the sky and stars which seemed brighter than usual; or maybe they were always like this and she failed to take time to notice. Next to her she feel him relax and the guilt shed as he looks at the same view.
'Yeah it is. There was one night in Korea we a meteor shower and everyone brought out chairs and all of us including patients, that were well enough to of course watched the show. It only lasted maybe five minutes but…" BJ fades off like all his stories of Korea.
"I'm sure it was amazing. Honey you do know it's okay to talk about things there. Good and bad. It's apart of you and us."
"I wanna focus on the present and future." It is so soft she barely heard it.
"That's fine. We should go star gazing one night in the back yard. I think Erin would get a kick out of it."
"Yeah and I imagine the view outside the city is even better."
"I imagine the same."
