A/N I don't own any of the characters.
Before The Beginning
"I'll be back later to get the rest of my things."
"Reba, don't do this."
"I'm not doing anything, Brock. It's all you this time."
"I think you are making a big mistake here, Reba!"
"No, Brock, the mistake was staying with you for as long as I have."
"Now where are you going?"
"Why the heck would I tell you?" Reba asked with a confused look on her face. With that, she slammed the door.
Brock made a big sigh as he walked to the fridge and got out a beer.
"Meow! Meoooow!" The cat screamed, looking up to Brock. He turned to look at the note that was put on the empty food dish.
Brock, it read, refill the cat's food dish. It's the big, white bag with a kitty on it.
After reading it, he walked into the living room and turned on the TV to channel 30 to watch a new episode of "Roseanne".
"Dan! Get in here!" The TV screamed.
"Now why does that look so familiar?" Brock asked himself aloud.
Reba knocked on the dark green door of Lori Ann's townhouse. Her shoulders were getting sore from the big white duffel bag she carried. No one answered so she pounded on the door.
"If you're from Visa, tell them the check's in the mail!" Lori Ann shouted from inside.
"It's me!" Reba yelled.
"Oh...Reba!" Lori Ann said with a big grin on her face as she opened the door. "What are you doing here...with a big overnight bag...filled with clothes?"
"Why?" Reba asked. "Have I come at a bad time?"
"It's just that--"
"Excuse me, ladies," A man said as he slipped past the two women, slipping a shirt on and winking at Reba.
"That's my insurance agent!" Reba exclaimed as the man walked to his car.
"Oh, I know," Lori Ann said. "He just came over to do a little "life insurance planning"."
"That's all fine and dandy," Reba said. "But I need a place to stay. Brock and I got into another fight.
"Again? I would say you'd be better off with a pig but that'd be an insult to swine."
They both laughed.
"Well," Lori Ann said. "Why don't you come in?"
Lori Ann grabbed Reba's bag and estimated how heavy it was. "How many clothes do you think this would hold?" She asked. "Four...five days worth?"
Reba looked at her.
"I'm just kidding!" Lori Ann said as the two sat down on the couch which appeared to be sunk in and squeaky. Reba looked at her and raised an eyebrow.
"Never mind that," Lori Ann said. "Just tell me what happened."
"I don't know...he's just seems a little shady lately. He never tells the truth!"
"It's not like that's headline news, Reba."
"Well, for instance, we have been running really low on money so he says he's gonna go out and look for a job and comes back looking orang-er than ever! And each tanning session costs like thirty bucks!"
"Well, how do you know that?"
"Because every time I go to the bank to get money, there's always been a withdraw of thirty dollars."
"Well, you're just a little miss Nancy Drew, aren't you?"
"I'm starting to wonder if he's seeing someone else."
"If he is," Lori Ann said. "I'll kill him."
"I just don't know what to do."
"You should hire a private detective!" Lori Ann suggested excitedly. "Trust me, those boys are good. They can dig up more dirt than you ever could. Even with binoculars, a GPS, and 2 hidden cameras. Trust me, I've tried it."
Reba nodded in agreement. "I love him with all my heart but he's broke it too many times. I don't know if I can keep putting the pieces back together for him." She started to tear up.
"Reba," Lori Ann warned. "Don't start that. Remember what your daddy always taught you."
"I know. I know." She looked up. "Cowgirls don't cry."
Thanks for reading my new story! I don't know if I'll be continuing my other one unless more people review. My other one is called "I Lied". Please review this story!
