Ash stared at Clemont, watching him work on an invention that didn't quite work properly. Lately, Ash had noticed just how much he'd been watching Clemont, but it didn't really worry him. Clemont was just interesting, different. And, Ash wanted desperately to mess with Clemont, push his buttons and find out what makes Clemont tick.
His cheek sunk into his hand, and Ash sighed as he stretched on the picnic table.
"What's wrong with you?" Clemont asked, not even bothering to look up from his work.
Ash puffed his cheek, glaring daggers to the hunk of metal. The stupid thing had Clemont's attention, and Ash was fairly certain Clemont wouldn't be giving up that attention any time soon. So, Ash took off his hat and tossed it onto the table, mumbling incoherent noises as his response to Clemont.
Clemont snickered and reached for a screwdriver, which was the next object to earn Ash's hatred. He wanted to mess around, play! Not sit bored with nothing to do!
Then, Clemont gave a huff and pushed back his hair, hunching over his invention. Within seconds, Clemont was once again shoving his hair out of the way, and it gave Ash quite the idea. With a giggle, Ash grabbed his hat and made his way around the picnic table behind Clemont.
"What are you doing?" Clemont questioned just as Ash plopped the hat on his head, making him jump. Ash adjusted it, fixing the bill backwards and scooping Clemont's bangs through the opening in the back. Clemont blinked, unsure of what to think.
Ash smirked, thoroughly pleased with himself. Clemont was flustered, if the growing pink on his cheeks was any indication, and he looked positively adorable in that hat.
"Wh-why?" was all Clemont managed, making to take the hat off.
Ash stopped him, swatting his hands away. "You were having trouble with your hair, so I thought I'd help!" Ash reasoned, beaming brightly. "And you look pretty cute with my hat on!" he added before taking off towards their tent.
"C-cute?!" Clemont shouted, cursing under his breath as he tossed down his work and ran after Ash. Why did he always have to do this?!
Ah, diodeshipping, truly a wonderful thing.
