My Need

Boredom,
Creeping, crawling,
Slithering inexorably closer.

Run,
Flee before it,
Escape the mental stagnation.

Work,
An absorbing occupation,
Relish it's occurrence.

Music,
A gentle past time,
Compose and play in turn.

Reading,
Mental stimulation,
Informative and captivating.

Cocaine,
A dangerous protest,
And yet, my need remains.
