Snape's world slowly went dark as he lay dying on the floor of the boathouse. The darkness creeped against the corners of his eyes, until, finally, it blocked out his whole vision. The darkness lasted for only a few more minutes, before there was a literally explosion of light in front of him. He blinked rapidly to accomadate the sudden brightness.
When his eyes had adjusted, he noticed that he was beside of a house in the middle of a lush forest. As Snape stared at the window of the house, a woman with bright red hair walked past it. Snape's heart soared. It was her. The woman that he had secretly loved for almost all of his life.
just as he smiled the woman turned around, and a bright smile appeared on her face. She ran away from the window and shortly afterward she ran from out of the side of the house. The woman, whose name was lily, ran up and threw her arms around him. " Oh, Sev, thank you thank you, thank you." She said rather rapidly.
" Thank me for what?" Snape asked.
Lily leaned back and said, " For helping my son."
Suddenly, there was a large crack in the air, and Snapes enemy from school, James Potter, appeared. Snape expected to hear James say something about his hair, but, shockingly, James didn't say anything at all. In fact, the only thing he did was reach his arm over Lily's shoulder. In that moment Snape understood that he could never have her the way James had her, but that didn't matter to him anymore. All that mattered was she was here with him again. And if they could only be friends, then so be it.
