….and just like that, he was gone. Alison blinked her eyes a couple of times, checking if it was real. Her hands still ached from holding to his jacket so tightly, and her cheeks were cold from the chilling wind beginning to blow. She walked towards the barn, still in a bit of shock. This wasn't how they were supposed to say goodbye, it was suppose to be longer, more meaningful. But now he was gone, and she would never see him again. Alison found herself staring at the doorknob of the barn, not sure why she couldn't take her eyes off it. Closing her eyes, she reached for the knob and walked into the barn. It was different being in here, it wasn't happy anymore. Alison picked up one of Rafe's sweaters he had left behind and put it on as she walked to the circle they had "married" themselves in. Their time wasn't long enough, she had so many things that she wanted to tell him. The tears began to flow down her cheeks as she collapsed to the ground, wrapping herself in the sweater. She cried for hours, and finally cried herself to sleep in the middle of the circle.

The flash ended and he was surrounded by white once again. Rafe looked around in disappointment, realizing where he was. He sat at the round, white table and put his head down, thinking of Alison. He did not realize that he was crying until he picked his head up and saw the small puddle of tears on the table. He could not stay away from her, he had too many things left to say and do with her. He left her the wrong way, it was not suppose to be so sudden. Rafe sat quietly and distant while the other angels returned and reflected on their time on Earth. He was even distant as Eve filled the fifth chair and they helped her cross over. After what seemed to be hours of reflection, the room was once again empty. Rafe looked around and suddenly became angry. He picked up a chair and hurled it across the brightness, sobbing in the process. He stood there for a moment and suddenly collapsed to the floor, helpless and his heart breaking. As he fell to the floor, the clouds parted slightly and he could see Alison sleeping on the barn floor. He smiled slightly and blew a kiss to her from heaven.

She woke up with a sudden freshness, and a tingle to her cheek. Alison lifted her hand to her face and smiled at the sky. He had kissed her, and she knew it. She stood up and looked around, not knowing what to do. She smiled at the flowers and candles that they had collected over the weeks, and walked over to their engraved names on the pillar in the barn. She ran her fingers over the names as she whispered to the air:
"Rafe, I know I promised you I would move on..but I can't. You are and always will be my only true love. There has to be another way you can come back, please try…please."
She began to cry again and slip to the ground, burying her face in her knees.
