CHAPTER 1: Draco in Diagon Alley
Draco Malfoy sauntered towards Madam Malkin's, smirking as he walked in through the glass doors. He needed a set of new robes. It was one of the most important occasions of his life: Harry's wedding. Astoria walked beside him, smiling serenely as she caressed her baby bump. Diagon Alley never failed to excite and amuse her, with its beautiful array of shops, hustle and bustle of witches and wizards in colorful robes and the deafening levels of noise as students arrived in hordes for their Christmas shopping. She had another agenda: shopping for the baby.
Madam Malkin was extremely busy fitting new students with their school robes and her usually neat shop was in chaos as more and more people poured in, looking for new robes for Christmas. 'Draco, we'll never finish in time!' said Astoria, looking around. 'Don't worry, when we inform Madam Malkin of the situation, I'm sure she'll sort us out in no time,' he replied confidently. He went up to Madam Makin and whispered something in his ear. 'Well, I never! It's finally happening!' she said, grinning broadly.
'Well, come up, my dear. Let's get you fitted. I just received a new consignment of material today from Poland and it has the most amazing colors! 'Just ideal for the wedding of the century!' Draco smirked. Astoria grinned. She knew what he was thinking. Trust Draco to show Harry up at his own wedding. 'No that's OK, we'll leave it to the groom to be dressed in stupendous magnificence.' Draco's face fell. 'Oh, but Astoria, think how much fun…..' he trailed off, staring outside the window. 'There's Granger with Weasley. I wonder what they're up to,' watching the couple glance around impatiently as they sat on a bench outside Flourish and Botts.
'Ok, we'll go outside and have a chat, but I'm not leaving until I have my new robes. And neither are you,' she added, watching Draco as his feet moved towards the door. He stopped, abashed. 'Ok then. Let's get started!" he said to Madam Malkin, who was just finishing another fitting. Draco tried to keep his eye on the couple all through the fitting, but lost sight of them when Madam Malkin asked him to turn around. Peering back, he saw with a start that they were gone. 'Astoria? Did you see where they went?' She didn't reply. 'Astoria?' He looked around to where she was standing. She wasn't there. Frantic, he swiveled around, searching the entire shop. Madame Malkin started wringing her hands. 'Oh dear, oh dear,' she said, worriedly. 'She was just here!' 'I know!' Draco shouted.
Astoria had disappeared into thin air without disapparating.
