Where is he?
He said he'd be here 3 hours ago.
These were thoughts that crossed Josh's mind over and over again as he waited for his fiance. It was getting later into the day and Josh knew how punctual Chris was when it came to seeing Josh. He looked out of the window to see if any cars pulled up but what he saw was an empty driveway with no cars but his own. Josh texted Sam and others to ask if they've seen Chris around. Josh became worried and stressed when everyone answered that they hadn't seen him all day. Sam asked if anything was wrong but Josh couldn't answer. His mind went to a bunch of things.
Is he hurt?
Did he just blow me off to go drinking or something?
Why hasn't he called or texted anymore especially me?
Josh was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard his phone ring, in hope that it was his finace. The number that read on Josh's phone was a number he hoped to ever see again after what happened to his sisters a few years ago. The hospital. A nurse said that something happened and he needed to get to the hospital right away. That it was an emergency.
With that being said, Josh raced to his car and started driving to the hospital, knowing it was about Chris. As he drove, he was in tears and just thinking about when Chris proposed to him and all of the conversations they've had about their perfect life and their perfect kids and perfect house that they're going to have in the future. They were gonna have a house near the country and they'd live their forever.
When Josh arrived to the hospital, the nurses try to explained what happened but he couldn't focus on them. He was focused on Chris. The nurses lead him down what feels like a million halls just to get to Chris's room. Josh tried to pull it together before he walked in there. He sat beside Chris on the bed and smiled through his tears. Chris was in really bad shape. Josh knew he wasn't going to survive it never killed anyone to have hope. Chris knew it too. Josh could only try to make the situation better. He started talking to Chris about their perfect life and the kids and the house and how they're gonna have everything they ever wanted, including each other.
Josh got an idea and called in the nurses and got the chaplain and rings from the couple next door. They ask the chaplain to say a few verses and Josh says that he wants to have Chris forever and to have the perfect house with the kids and live the life they've had planned for a while now. Josh says how much he loves him and how he'll stick by him through whatever life throws at them and how they're gonna grow old together and just be happy.
Josh gets to finish his vows but the beeps just keeping getting slower and Chris can barely talk but he's able to say "I'll always love you. Please just remember even if i'm not there. I'm always gonna love you." That was the last thing Chris got to say to Josh.
Josh started crying even more know and holding on to Chris.
"Please don't leave me too. You said you wouldn't leave me."
It's a long silence filled of Josh crying and holding on to his late fiance.
"Please come back to me…"
