7/28/08-Yes! I have hit the season nine border line that I have been wanting to get to. This is kind of my own reaction when John became Sergeant and I put it in Maria's little world. She needs something to do in my head. She's pacing back and forth in my head. I own her, but nothing else.
Sergeant?
John? Sergeant? What the fuck? Maria's own mind was boggled when John had let slip that he had been promoted to the fellow detectives. She always thought that she would be the first to know.
Cornering him after Cragon left, she placed her hands on her hips and looked at the perplexed look on his face. "So, when were you going to tell me you took the exam?"
She doesn't even look or sound angry, he thought as he pondered for an honest, yet quick, answer. "Well, I wanted to tell you personally this morning, but I couldn't find you fast enough. I guess the cat is out of the bag, huh?" He gave the best innocent look his tired face could give. He got mixed results from the expression etched on her face.
"That little look isn't going to get you anywhere, hun." She said as she raised both dark brown eyebrows and released a smirk. It would take a lot of prodding to get Maria angry or this was a good day for anyone. "When did you take it?"
John gave a shrug. "Not too long ago. On a bar bet, like I told the others."
"Is that all?" She crossed her arms but not to show she was pissed, but curious. John could tell that her facial muscles had relaxed that her eyes showed the glint that got his attention the first time he saw her.
"Yes, I wouldn't keep anything from you. I try, but you give me your look of prying and I can't help but fall to your whim." He gave a suggestive look that only she could see as two officers walked by. Both were deep in conversation that they didn't notice how red Maria face got.
"Don't go there, John. We have to be here until ten tonight." She kept her voice low just in case. The only ones that knew about their relationship was the three other detectives, Cragon, Warner and Huang. They wanted to keep it that way.
"I know." He kept the tone that drove her nuts until Maria let out a sigh that told him he won that battle of the sexes.
Waiting for her face to return to normal color, Maria looked over at her desk where Ace sat with a chew toy in his mouth. "I have work to do and you have to beat the younglings around. Must get them to behave while big daddy is gone."
"Don't I believe it." He grumbled as he slowly made his way to Cragon's office.

7/28/08-Honestly, I had to play with this one for a little bit. I did, at first, have Maria sounding like a total bitch, but I couldn't do that. She's more mellow then that. Anyways, enjoy this little one and, if you want to, please leave a review. I don't bite hard.
