A/N: Hi guys! This is just a drabble I did on Tumblr to accompany an aesthetic I made. :) I have been thinking about expanding it, so I just thought I would just publish it here for the time being. I hope you like it! xx
"What is it you even see in her, Giantsbane?" The voice of a Night's Watchman spoke. He had never given his name, or perhaps he had, either way it wasn't important. He wasn't important.
Tormund uttered a grunt before placing his tankard down beside him, eyeing the man out of the corner of his eye, he let a low chuckle escape him.
"You should probably be asking yourself what you don't," he spoke, placing his bow on the table, a silent warning.
The Night's Watchmen looked down at the weapon, the bow's nocking point still drenched with fresh blood of the kill he had brought back from beyond the wall. A nervous glance between the weapon and the Wildling caused an excited tremor to run throughout Tormund's body.
No one disrespected his queen.
"All I am sayin' is that in a situation like⦠that," the man motioned towards the door that Brienne had exited through only moments prior, "You can't really protect your woman when she is bigger than ya."
Slamming his fists down on the wooden table the Wildling let out a roaring laugh, clutching at his sides trying desperately to catch his breath. The nameless man flinched as the sound of the table's splintering wood filled his ears, he watched on in silence, waiting for the laughter to die down.
"What makes you think she needs saving? If anything, she will be the one protectin' me!" Choking out another convulsive laugh he hit the man on the back, both in joviality and as an unspoken warning. The Night's Watchmen, now visibly shaken, stumbled out of the chair moving to join the others on the opposite side of the room.
"You can't really protect your woman when she is bigger than ya," Tormund mocked, lifting his tankard to his mouth, he took a sizable gulp before lowering it once more. Tears began to spill from his eyes at the sheer ridiculousness of the comment. Wiping them away he looked towards the doorway, in the same lovesick, spacey way.
"What a woman."
