Hi.
To be honest, I'm not very good with fanfiction, so bear with me. However, after finishing Kingdom Hearts II, I was quite disappointed with the lack of back story for most of Organization XII members. While I suppose all my questions could be answered in the next installment of the series, I wanted to actually try my hand at what I thought might be a possibility.
I'm not saying THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD BE, or even how I expect it to be. This is just my little version, I guess. Would that make it an AU? I dunno, I'm not really familiar with fanfiction terms, either…

Chapter One: Empty
The first thing she thought, when drifting in the all-encompassing black, was how incredibly empty she felt. Hollow, blank, completely vacant. And, while she knew that should be upset, worried, and even angry she could barely muster any response what so ever. How could it be? Painfully devoid of feeling, she struggled to pull memories of feeling to her. What was it like to be angry? What was it like to be worried? What was it like to be upset? It was hard, fading in and out were vague recollections, but nothing solid; someone's laughter, a stern lecture… but no faces, no names, and only the softest of voices.
So she lay in that abyss, her mind fogged over with the shadows that seemed to be pervading from the darkness around her. She had to do something, though. She couldn't just resign herself to an eternity of floating here. A memory of determination drifted across her mind and she struggled to hand onto it. This recollection, it was enough to try and hold on. To try and fight back again the little voice in the back of her head, telling her with a soft viciousness that she should give up and surrender to the darkness.
She was stronger than that, and this memory proved it.
She felt a convulsion in her chest, where she felt her heart ought to me. She screamed, and the inky blackness around her began to peel away into a brilliant white. Though there were no walls, it seemed as if the realm in which she was in was becoming unstable, the radiance that was breaking through the dim shroud was ripping away its very foundation – and then, a sudden darkness once again.
---
She gasped and jerked upwards, opening her pale blue eyes as she sucked in a breath. She could see walls, there was a floor; she was laying on a hard surface. She could almost make out a door, but -
"Oh, it's bright!" She hissed.
The walls were a pure, almost glowing white. It stung her eyes, from being in the darkness for so long. Or, at least it felt that way. Regardless, the light of this room hurt and she would just rather keep her hands firmly over her eyes until they adjusted.
"It will take some time to become accustomed to your new form."
The voice was intelligent, masculine, and chilled her to the bone. The blonde woman declined to reply, and instead kept her hands across her eyes. Despite this venture, it still seemed like the blazing white was pushing through her fingers and irritating her. The man, after a pause, continued.
"However, you should be proud," he almost seemed sarcastic, "you've made it all the way here. How strong your heart must've been."
The voice chuckled now, and she heard footsteps approaching her. She wanted to see who it was, but that would mean having to look at those annoyingly bright walls. Slowly, the woman moved her fingers just barely so that she could squint through the gaps at the figure standing nearby.
"Where is… here?" She questioned.
"A world that was never ment to be, my dear."
She frowned at him. He was dressed in an odd black coat, hand tucked behind his back. Framing his long was similarly long hair in a simple cut. She didn't like him much already. He smiled, or the closest thing to it, the sides of his mouth upturning ever so slightly. Yeah, she definitely didn't like him.
"Welcome, number twelve, Larxene."
