Wednesday morning, Calvin has just broken another household
object and Mom is fed up.
Mom : Now Calvin, I've had enough of your "spaceman" antics.
This ratty old cloak and mask go into the trash today and that's it!
Calvin : WHAT? Mom, you can't do that!!
Mom : Calvin, I've been more than understanding lately, and this is the second lamp you've broken! Not to mention of course the plate, the cup-
Calvin : But Mom, I promise I'll be more careful!
Mom : I'm not discussing this with you any further. I'll hide it away until Thursday when the trashman comes so you won't steal it back. Now go sweep upthat broken lamp.
(Mom leaves with cape and mask leaving a eartbroken Calvin with a broom)

Calvin's room, around 11:00 am
Calvin : It's not fair Hobbes, thats all I've got to do on summer vacation and now I have nothing to do.
Hobbes : You could do some thing with me....
Calvin : [pretending not to hear] I can't believe I've got to spend the rest
of the summer doing nothing.
Hobbes : Humph.

Meanwhile, in another "galaxy," ....
Spiff : Well looks like im out for another expedition.
(A mombot sneakes up behind Spiff)
Robot : Mombot 7.98324 ....click click... DISABLE SPIFF!!
Spiff : Huh?
(The mombot fires a glowing red beam at Spiff, and Spiff instantly feels weak and helpless as he is hit
Spiff : I can't believe I let my guard down! I've been stripped of my superhero powers! Now I guess I'll just be a nobody...

Wednesday night, Rosalyn comes over to babysit Calvin while Mom and Dad go out to dinner.
Mom : And make sure he doesn't go snooping around for his cape and mask...
Rosalyn : As long as I get paid, I get the job done.
Mom : [sighs] Ok, then. Calvin, don't cause trouble !
Calvin : [mopey] I won't.
(Mom and Dad drive away)
Rosalyn : Calvin, I missed a date tonight to babysit you and you had better be good or I'll-
Calvin : Ok Rosalyn.
Rosalyn : Good

Meanwhile, back to Spiff, who is walking along when two members of the Squid Alien race ambush him and surround him in a jail bubble.
Alien 1 : Click click snarfle crack.
Alien 2 : Snap whistle pop click crack tap.
Spiff : Without my superpowers, these aliens will soon find an easy way to dispose of me! I've got to think of something...
