Chapter 1

There once was a princess that was imprisoned in a tower by her mother. The reason for this punishment was flimsy- she never followed her mother's orders. Many, including the King, thought that this punishment was too severe to the princess, but did not stop the queen from carrying out the punishment. Many dragons were brought to the tower to watch over the princess and keep her isolated from others. Years passed and the dragons grew from from keepers of the imprisoned princess to guardians and her sole confidants. Instead of a punishment, the queen had given her princess a gift.

When she found out, the Queen was furious. Nobody had figured out this change in the dragons yet, and so she quickly spun a tale of the dragons growing violent and separating the princess from her family. Those that remembered the Queen's earlier actions had no sympathy for her, but those that had, felt some. Many young knights began traveling for the chance to save the beautiful princess from her prison.

"I think that's the hundredth one." Karma snorted as he slipped into Nagisa's room, trading his red scales for a more human appearance.

Nagisa hummed in response watching two other dragons, Kayano and Rio drag the two unconscious knights into the forest so they could be found later. He pretended not to see Isogai snatching armor that had fallen off the two in the fight. No doubt planning to sell it later at a market.

"They don't even know you're a guy. They keep calling you 'Princess'." Karma sat on a cushion. "I think they have the wrong tower."

"It's most likely my mother."

Karma's tail froze. Nagisa didn't even have to look to know the look of disgust that Karma had. There wasn't a single dragon guarding him that had a positive feeling towards her.

"When they say 'princess', it's probably my mother spreading stories. She always wanted a girl."

"I know." Karma appeared next to him. "You've told us lots and lots of times." A sadistic smirk appeared on the dragon's face. "If she thinks she can get you back, she's got another thing coming. We'd burn that kingdom to the ground before we let you go."

"Thanks Karma." Nagisa's response was half-hearted.

"Remember when you found me?" Karma asked. It was his only way to keep Nagisa from getting lost in his self-deprecating thoughts.

Nagisa smiled. "Yeah. You'd been cursed to be the size of a gecko. I brought you in because you were going to freeze in the blizzard."

"And then you broke the curse, and I broke your bed."

Nagisa laughed. It wasn't a half-hearted laugh. It was genuine. Instead of staring off into nothing, Nagisa was watching the other dragons fly around or walk around the base of the tower in their human forms.

Karma jumped onto the edge of the window. "How about we fly around a little?"

"Karma..." Nagisa's smile became softer. "Kayano's right behind you."

"What-" A gust from the green dragon sent the other dragon back into the room and sliding across the floor. When Karma lifted his head up, his eyes were a brilliant bright red.

Kayano hadn't changed out of her dragon form and was giving him the closest she could to a satisfied smirk. Nagisa was patting her snout.

"Sorry Karma, but I promised Kayano that I'd ride her today."

Kayano's smug look began to annoy Karma more and more.

Get over yourself, overgrown lizard. Karma thought. Instead of voicing his thoughts, the red dragon smiled-rather forcefully- and waved them off. As they left him alone, Karma began plotting his revenge.

The next day, villagers would report seeing a green dragon breathing fire and screeching at a red dragon that seemed to have a smug look on its face.

A/N: And this is my re-write for "Not Leaving!" I'm sorry for taking so long to write this and for the drastic change in setting and genre, but there was nothing that I could come up with that seemed right. Then I had another idea for Assassination classroom in a fictional setting, involving a protective Class E, and I figured I might as well try it.

I originally planned for this to be a one-shot, but I've gotten invested in this. For now, I'll leave it as a one-shot. Once I finish the other re-writes I have in the making, I might come back to this. (If you want me to, let me know!)

Speaking of re-makes, my other Assassination Classroom story, "Enslaved" is also being re-written. It'll be posted after my One Piece re-write "Honest Freedom". I hope you'll all enjoy it!

Thank you for reading!
