They were both glaring, silently daring one another to make the first move. Minutes were passing, and I was getting impatient.

"Edward, just let it go already." I begged him. He just shook his head, carefull to not break the eye contact. I sighed deeply, and looked at the clock. Five minutes had passed.

When another minute passed again, I picked up the little animal and placed it in my lap. I petted the little animal, and it began to purr silently. Smiling, I looked up to see Edward's face, and of course he was still glaring at the animal. Big suprise there.

I really didn't understand his hatred towards the little kitten, though. I mean, it was so sweet, and innocent. Absolutely harmless. I found it today, when it was walking on the street on his own. He looked so sad and lonely, that I took him with me. I really thought it wasn't going to be such a big deal. But apparently Edward thought otherwise. When another minute passed, both still not breaking the eye contact, I sighed again and stood up with the kitten still in my arms. I put the little animal down, and opened the door of my room.

The kitten was hesitating, and obviously didn't wanted to go. It looked at Edward again with his big blue eyes, and Edward growled loudly at him. The cat was out of the door without a second thought, and ran down the stairs as if it was running away from death. I rolled my eyes, and looked at Edward with my hands on my hips.

He was looking at the door and had a big grin plastered on his face. When he noticed me glaring at him, he just shrugged and tried to look innocent.

"What? He hated me." Edward pouted, and I just couldn't stay mad at him anymore. He looked so damn cute. Grinning, I climbed on his lap and kissed him. He rolled onto his side, so we were lying down on my bed and he pulled the covers over me.

"Tomorrow I'll go to the shelter and see if they have a place for him there, ok?" I asked him. Edward nodded, a pleased look on his face.

I gently pulled my hands through his hair, and scraped his skull. I was almost asleep, when I heard Edward purr silently next to me. It was so cute, it made my heart swell. I smiled to myself.

I didn't need a pet, I already had my Edward.
