Rollercoaster
Up then down,
Up and back down,
If they're too many downs
And not enough ups
What will I do then?
Because it is happening now,
Too many downs,
Not nearly enough ups,
Not enough ups that are wonderful
Not nearly enough that will equal the downs
What can I do?
No-one is next to me.
If I can't share the ups
How can I share the downs?
How can I share the fear of the downs;
With the strength that I need?
What can I do?
When I look next to me I find the seat empty,
What if it's never to be filled… never taken
Left forever to be empty.
What is going to happen to me?
What can I do?
The ride stops,
For the slightest second,
Then it starts back up, but
I look next to me and I know everything will be alright
Because someone has filled the empty seat
What can I do now? Nothing, just enjoy the ride.
