More of my boring drabble. I'm not sure if i really like the writing in this. I just like the idea. I've been having all these stupid ideas which are stupid (dah). Anyway, i just felt the need to put lots of stories up. Which i'm doing. This is like my second today, now that I can upload again.
Don't own nothing.
Sonny pulled her coat around her even tighter. It was a bright, sunny yellow coat that stood out even in her bubbly closet. Even in her outfit though, she felt dull. Everything felt dull and boring in this rainy, gray world. It was pouring, today of all days, just after she had decided to cut off Chad from all her thoughts. It made the day even worse. A world with no Chad . . .
She could barely remember what he'd done. Something about another girl? Or maybe her cast. Had he been a jerk to her cast? Sonny didn't know and she didn't care. She didn't want to be mad at him anymore.
Sonny sighed as ice-cold droplets dripped from her umbrella. She stared at the gray sky, barely able to tell different clouds from each other. People bustled by her hurriedly, trying to get out of the rain. She walked slowly, having little energy.
And then it struck her. The first colour of the day. Like the sun beating down on you when you first wake up, or the flash of colour after you've closed your eyes tightly. Sonny's heart thudded and faltered.
Blond. She saw blond. And not just any pretty blond – his blond. Golden blond, each strand shining individually in the sunshine that wasn't even there.
Sonny then saw the second colour of the day. A bright, sky blue – which she couldn't see in the sky itself right now. It was the colour of every lake or ocean or blue crayon in a little kid's pencil case. It was every hue of blue in the world, and it was all the same colour.
Sonny felt all the colours then. Once she had the blue and blond, she could see so clearly it felt like the finest day on the planet.
"I'm sorry," were the best words she'd heard all day as they escaped his red lips. His cheeks, a faded shade of this colour, were cold. She wanted to take his adorable face between her hands and warm him up, but she just stood there.
Chad pulled out a flower from the inside of his jacket. It felt warm in her numb hands as he handed it to her. She held it against her heart. A daisy - as bright and beautiful as she was.
"Why are you sorry?" she tormented, the edges of mouth lips curled upwards.
"Because I'm an idiot, Sonny. Because I didn't want to admit . . ." Chad's voice trailed off, but Sonny didn't give up.
"Admit what Chad?" she taunted, a small smile on her face.
Chad sighed. "Admit that I care about you."
"Is that all?" she asked, her smile widening to show her teeth.
Chad rolled his eyes in defeat. "Admit that I like you?"
"Anything else?" A full grin stretched across Sonny's face.
"Fine, Sonny! Just fine! Admit that I, Chad Dylan Cooper, love you!" he frowned at her. He expected a nice, long make out session and a happy ending.
"Huh. That's nice. Thanks for the flower, Chad! See you 'round," she said sweetly, skipping away.
You've got to be kidding me, Chad thought to himself. He realised what a nice day it really was. She'd said she'd "see him around". Yeah, it was a very nice day.
