SPOILERS: "Last Laugh"
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Nick Stokes, Sara Sidle, or the rest of anything related to CSI (except the DVDs--mine, mine, mine). CSI is property of Anthony Zuiker, Jerry Bruckheimer, Alliance Atlantis, et al. I'm merely borrowing them for a lark.
SUMMARY: Sara's musings during the bathroom scene of "Last Laugh."
AUTHOR'S NOTES: This story is for Ellie and all my other 'Snicker' buddies. It's been awhile since I've written for N/S, so this little ficlet was my way of 'practicing' writing it again. Hope you enjoy. ;) Oh yeah, and feedback fuels more NSR stories.

Is it so wrong that I find Nick Stokes attractive? Of course not. He is attractive --very much so. So much, in fact, that the statement, "Nick Stokes is hot," could be a scientific fact. He's got lovely brown eyes, a chiseled jaw, and a very bright smile. For me to not admire his attractiveness... that would be wrong.

And is it so wrong for me to enjoy his Texas-borne chivalry? Absolutely not. Despite the changing roles and attitudes of males and females in today's society, there's nothing bad about a girl admiring the gentlemanly acts of an old-fashioned guy. It's charming. He's charming.

Is it so wrong for me to have fun with him outside of work? Nope. We're good friends, after all. We get along quite well when we're not working cases together, actually. Well... come to think of it, we get along pretty well even when we are working together... though sometimes our individual stubbornness has a tendency to cause some friction every now and then. It's never a lasting friction, though. At the end of shift, all is well.

Is it so wrong for me to imagine what he'd be like as a boyfriend? Surely not. I already know what he's like as a co-worker, and I already know what he's like as a friend --the knowledge of what he's like as a boyfriend would be just one step beyond that. It's only natural to wonder about that next logical step.

And is it so wrong for me to subtly admire his body when he's not paying attention? Probably not. Sure, I'm a total science geek, and I don't date much due to the fact that I constantly get screwed over by guys, but... beneath all that, I am still a woman. Besides, as I said earlier, it's scientific fact... Nick Stokes is hot.

Is it so wrong for me to look at him now, trying to pull a towel bar off the wall with one foot on the tub as leverage, and imagine him in that same position while we're going at it like sex-crazed teenagers on my kitchen table?

...Yeah, probably.

We're on the clock, after all --we're working a case. And I'm supposed to be focusing on said-case. So yeah. Fantasizing about your partner while on-the-job is probably totally wrong.

It can't be so wrong, though. If it was, it wouldn't be giving me butterflies. If loving Nick Stokes was so wrong, I wouldn't be so damn happy.
