Out of all the confusing things in Zeke's life, he'd always had one thing figured out.

His sexuality.

Okay, so he liked girls. Fine. They were pretty, soft creatures with breasts. He liked them. That was okay, nothing wrong with that. At least he wasn't gay.

But then, he did like guys, too. They were tougher than girls, harder, and he liked also flat chests. And liking guys was okay. Maybe he was bisexual then. He didn't particularly care if there was a word for it. It was the way he was, end of story.

So, he fucked around a little – mostly with girls, because no matter what, he wasn't particularly interested in getting himself a reputation as a faggot – but never got into anything even remotely serious.

At some point, he realized there was one thing he found strangely fascinating...

Losers.

C'mon, Miss Burke? She didn't exactly qualify as a catch. She was a soft loser with no edge whatsoever, but Zeke liked her. She was shy, not to mention scared of everything, but that was okay. In fact, it was probably why he was drawn to her. She was unselfish, not too loud, and definitely not mean to anyone.

Then an alien took over her body, and suddenly she *was* loud, and mean, and impossibly annoying. And suddenly, Zeke didn't know what he'd seen in her. And it didn't really help that he saw her without a head, either…

Of course, there was also Marybeth Hutchinson, a new girl with no friends, and with her, Zeke had an almost-fling that lasted exactly one kiss. The moment she went and became a tough girl - alien - was the moment Zeke lost interest in her. Well. Who would want to date an alien, anyway?

And then. Casey Connor. The loser. The geek.

Casey wasn't exactly shy. He'd just gotten thrown into the flagpole or a wall too often, and so he wasn't exactly a trusting person, either. There was a certain edge to him, though. He could open his mouth and say, "fuck you," if needed. He had more balls than most of the other geeks in the school. Hell, he even went and told Delilah she was a complete bitch sometimes.

Still, he was a geek, a loser. He wore ugly clothes and he couldn't defend himself. He got pushed into walls and thrown balls first into the flagpole. He tried to be invisible as often as he could. He wasn't exactly shy, but he still lacked courage in some things.

So, Casey killed an alien, and went from being a geek to being one of the most respected guys in the school. No one wanted to fuck with a guy who'd killed an alien.

Gradually, Casey got more and more self-confident. He stopped being scared, lost, and bullied. He stopped being a loser.

And when that wasn't enough to make Zeke lose his interest in Casey, Zeke knew that there was something more to this boy, there was something beyond the geek-attraction.

Maybe this was love.
