Olivia Benson. How is it that that one name, those six syllables, has the power to bring me down to my knees and keep me there?

Ever since the day we met, we've been practically inseparable. She's my best friend, and I'm hers. Everyone who knows us likes to tease us, but they have an understanding of our relationship. And they've come to learn that it's not just Elliot or Olivia anymore. It's Elliot and Olivia, or Benson and Stabler. Has been since, well, as long as I can remember.

It's been almost nine years since we were first partnered up, and through every up and down, we've stuck everything out. From my divorce to our being temporarily split up, we've only gone from strength to strength.

Now, I'm not saying that we've never fought. We've probably gone toe to toe more than any other set of partners in the squad. But somehow, we've always bounced back.

I still remember the first time I laid eyes on her. I had just lost one partner, and all I knew about her was that she was a rookie. Then she walked in, and I was tempted to use a line like, "The modeling agency is down the street." But I didn't. All I did was put on my most charming smile and shake her hand.

"I'm Elliot."

She smiled at me, the smile that I instantly fell in love with, and said, "Olivia."

Right then and there, I knew everything had changed, and it would never be the same again. And after my divorce, we only grew closer.

And now, here I stand, on the most important day of my life. Munch and Fin are standing on my left, and my heart is racing wildly against my chest as we wait.

Finally the music starts, and a few minutes later, I see Cragen walking down the aisle, with the most beautiful woman in the world on his arm. Finally they reach us, and he kisses her cheek before placing her hand in mine.

We turn and face the preacher, and she squeezes my hand as he begins talking about love, honor, and commitment in a fast paced world.

Finally, the preacher smiles and says, "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

My hands shake as I reach out and raise her veil, then press my lips softly against hers. I can hear the cheering and clapping of our colleagues, but they're drowned out by the sound of her saying, "I love you, El."

I smile and press my forehead to hers, settling my hands on her waist as I say, "I love you too, Liv."

We've been partners at work for over eight years, and I wouldn't trade a second of it. Now we're partners for the rest of our lives.

And I couldn't imagine it any other way.

The End...
