Okay, so I wrote this one in 4th grade
Camp
"I told you i don't want to go to camp!" i yelled. "Well too bad, because i already payed for it so now you HAVE to go." my mom shot back. "Ugh!" i screamed. "i don't have a say in anything around here!" I stomped up the stairs and slammed the door. HARD. I'm pretty sure the house shook. I fell on my bed, turned over, and screamed into my pillow. Since really there was nothing else to do.
One hour later. . .
"Yes i have enough shirts!" "It's only a week!" i said exasperated to my mom. "Okay, Okay, just checking." mom said. "Well i've got everything i need, Ok?" i asked, "got it." she replied. "Come on let's get in the car." She turned and walked out of my room and down the stairs. I followed.
I stepped outside and walked to the car carrying my bag's. I lugged them into the trunk and hopped into the car. We drove. And drove. And drove. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we the-" "No we're not there yet!" mom snapped. we rode in silence for a little while after that. "We're going to stop at Arby's for lunch." mom finally said. We went through the drive-through. I got chicken strip's and curly frie's. We rode on. I devoured my chicken strip's and curly frie's. Mom turned on the radio. We turned a corner. And then another. Finally the camp came into view. mom stopped the car and i got out and grabbed my bag from the trunk. We went into the information office and i got assigned to cabin 4. I walked into the cabin, ( at least i think it was a cabin ) and saw at least two dozen nail polish bottles on the floor, hair dye on the windowsill, and perfume bottles on the shelves. "Whoa. . . this place looks like a spa." I said. "Hi my name's Ellie! We're painting our nails right now" a girl said. "My name's Marna" i responded "Where do you sleep?" "Over there." she pointed to a cot. I set my stuff down next to it. Just then a woman stepped through a door in the back of the back of the cabin. "Hi i'm Alice and i'll be your counselor." Alice declared to me. "Hi." i replied. "Okay group. let's go outside and play capture the flag!" Alice said. Everyone cheered. We went outside and got divided into two groups. I was in a group with Ellie. We played for about half an hour. I was going into the other team's side when one person saw me and started chasing me, then i tripped over a log and flew into the other side. My ankle hurt SSSSSSOOOOOOOOOO much! A girl named Claire came rushing over asking if i was okay. "I am, but my leg hurts like heck." i said. Claire grabbed a fallen branch and ripped it in half. Ripped. Seriously it was like watching the Incredible Hulk. She handed it to me and said "Here. Look's like you need it. could be sprained." "Thanks." i said. She helped me up, and i put the branch/crutches under my arms and crutch/walked back to cabin 4. I went through the door and laid down on my cot.
Turn's out the other person on the side of me was a girl named Hannah. Hannah was really nice. Alice told us to get our swimsuits on because we we're going to the lake. I got changed and threw my shoe's went up the trail to the lake and on the way i got bitten by at least a dozen bug's. By the time we reached the lake i was itching all over. We swam. It was a little hard with my foot but i managed. Ellie and Hannah swam with me. I already counted them as friends. We dove, and swam, and played around a little more, then Alice said it was time to go back. We went back to the cabin where we played charades, Sorry and soccer, where i was goalie on Hannah's side. We eventually won 15-11. We walked from the field to our cabin and got ready for bed, brushing our teeth, and getting on our P.J.'s. Then we got in bed and went to sleep. Then in the middle of the night i woke up, got out of bed and walked out the door. (and no i'm not sleepwalking) I walked. And walked. And walked. And walked. And walked until i reached the bathroom's on the other side of camp. I went to the bathroom and when i walked out of the bathroom the biggest event of my life happened. The wildfire struck.
I crutched back as fast as i could back to the cabin. I thrust open the door.
"WILDFIRE!" i yelled.
Everyone woke up. "Wildfire?!THERE'S A WILDFIRE?!"everyone started came out of her little room in the back of the cabin. "What's going on?"she asked. "There's a wildfire!" i said frantically. "Everybody evacuate the building instantly!" Alice yelled. I rushed out of the building.
I saw Ellie and Hannah come coughing out after me. I didn't see anyone else come out after us for some reason. "To the lake!" i said."There won't be as much smoke over there!" We crawled up the trail leading to the lake. Once we got there we jumped in and swam for it. We reached the other side of the big forest lying on the shore spitting up water and sand. "is everyone okay?" i asked. "yeah i think i'm okay" ellie answered. "hannah?" i asked. "hannah?!" i asked scared. "i'm here" hannah said. I looked over at hannah. She was about ten feet away. I crawled over to the forest on this side of the lake. I grabbed two sturdy enough looking branches and hoisted myself up on them, because i lost my other crutch/branches when i swam over. Ellie and hannah got up too. And then hannah said, "guy's it's just the cold, hard, truth. I think we're lost."
We hiked in the forest looking for a place to sleep. We eventually found a good sleeping spot and laid down to sleep. I woke up to hot breath on the back of my neck. "Who is that?" i asked. I swatted blindly at the air beside me, my eyes still closed. My hand hit fur. My eyes shot open, and there standing there beside me was a German Shepherd. I had a little vest on with a park ranger badge. "Oh… my… gosh." i said, amazed at the dog beside me. I woke up Hannah and Ellie. They stared shocked at the dog. Just then a lightbulb went off in my mind. "Guy's! I know how we can find Alice!" I said, Giddy with joy. "How?!" they asked. I took off my sweatshirt that Alice lent me because i was cold. I told them my plan. But in order for this to work i needed the dog to cooperate. He could smell the sweatshirt and then follow the counselors' sent. That's what they're trained to do, right? I let the dog sniff the sweater. Thankfully the dog didn't take it. He took off running. We followed the best we could. Finally a cabin came into view. "Yes! We found them!" we all had expressions of joy on our faces. I turned to thank the dog , but he was gone. I whispered a thank's into the sky. Eventually we found Alice and told her all about our crazy trip across the lake. "You should call your mom." Alice told us. So we did. They came to pick us up. This is one weekend i will NEVER forget. Especially not my two new friend's.
