3 March 1303
I had an interesting experience to-day.
I was approached by a young man not much my elder while I sat in the chapel of our Lord with Friar Laurence. He had been sitting far behind us, and I had assumed he had been waiting to speak with the Friar. This young man—no more than a boy, in truth—interrupted our discussions to tell me that he thought me to be quite fair and that he might fancy me.
I do not know what to tell him.
He did not give me a name, instead simply smiling roguishly and leaving. The Friar thought this humorous, as did Mother Cristina. I did not.
