Prologue
The girl was huddled in the corner, stunned. She had memories of only needles and many strange people wearing white coats. Where am I? She thought.
"Let him in," The scientist said to his assistant. He stood far away from the heavily padded room and watched through the window as his assistant opened the door and let the man into the room.
The guy walked in, hunched, with the collar of his black shirt covering his eyes. Suddenly, all chaos broke out in the padded room. Perfect, the scientist thought.
Chapter one
I opened my eyes to see white. Everything was white and I came to realize I was in a white padded room. Isn't that for like people at the nuthouse? I thought. I sluggishly brought myself to my feet and I observed where I was. There was just white, a door, and a window.
I looked closely and realized there were people at the window looking at me. Frightened, I ran to the door hurriedly, but it was locked. Freaking out, I started circling the room, trying to find a place to get out.
Once I gave up, I sat down on the padded floor and tried to remember where I was. All I had were faint memories of needles, pills, it just didn't make since. Through the window, a guy in a white coat nodded at someone and quickly let them in the room.
I tried to escape, but wasn't fast enough. I observed the person in my room. It was a little boy who looked frightened. Maybe he would know where I was.
Unexpectedly, I had the overwhelming feeling I didn't recognize. It was uncomfortable and I had an urge to attack the boy. I ran to the corner and started to shake as I forced myself to stay where I was.
I looked at the people at the window. They were writing on clipboards which made me mad. Why weren't they helping me? What's with the boy? I walked over to them and stared into their eyes, but their eyes got wider and wrote more in their clipboards.
What looked like a nurse came into the room very cautiously as if I was a monster or something.
"It's okay." She said softly and walked toward me with her hand in her pocket. Unexpectedly, she pulled her hand out, holding a needle which she jabbed into my arm.
I winced then fell to the ground and shut my eyes.
