I don't own Drrrr or the song that inspired this ficlet (Lee Brice's "I Don't Dance")

"I don't dance, but here I am, spinning you 'round and 'round in circles"

Arlua couldn't help but smile softly at the lyrics of the song as it played. She'd heard it a few times before, and always thought that it was amusing how well it fit her friends.

For all their differences, Shizuo, Izaya, and even Kyohei were alike in several ways. All three hadn't really thought they would fall in love or settle down, but all three had done just that, and all three were wrapped around their significant others' fingers. Also, all three of them had been terrible dancers when they started out.

Shizuo had been too cautious, afraid of stepping on Tania's toes or knocking her down. Izaya had moved as easily as one would expect of a parkour master, but he had trouble matching his movements to the music the first time. Admittedly, this was probably because Arlua kept tripping him and teasing him about it, and she kept altering the tempo of her own movements. Kyohei, of course, was simply an inexperienced dancer, despite Anna's love of music.

"Cause you took these two left feet, and waltzed away with my heart."

All three had learned, though. Shizuo had learned that Tania was more durable than she looked, and she was nimble enough to keep her balance while keeping him from stepping on her feet. Izaya had learned to anticipate Arlua's tricks, and react instantly to them. Kadota learned that Anna was an excellent teacher, and had become a decent dancer himself.

"It ain't my style, but I don't care. I'd do anything with you anywhere. 'Cause I don't dance."

And now, as she watched everyone moving toward the dance floor at Rimiko's sixteenth birthday party (the youngest Heiwajima had wanted a ball for her sweet sixteen), Arlua knew she had made the right suggestion when the girl had asked for recommendations. She also couldn't wait until Shizuo heard the song that she had recommended for the second dance, which Shizuo had promised to dance with his daughter.

"So, has Shizuo threatened the brat's date yet?" Izaya asked, his lips brushing Arlua's ear as he pulled her back against his chest.
