she loves him, she hates him, she loves him
She wonders why she even falls for the idiot who's denser than a brick. Heck, he had even called her his 'best friend'. She doesn't even know why. Is it his looks? His status? His grades? His wealth? Well, one thing for sure, she knows he isn't exactly a popular guy with the looks and he's even a son of a yakuza boss. Plus she's way smarter than him, placing very high in test scores than he does. The money? Well, she has the money, too. She lives in a mansion, for Pete's sake. She already has enough money to spend on what she desires.
so why?
On a Wednesday afternoon, after school, she was asked by Kyoko-sensei to take a stack of papers to faculty office and she agreed since she doesn't have have any plans after school. And then, the stack of papers was placed into her hands that nearly reaches her eyes.
She's now struggling to make sure the papers doesn't fall from her hands so she walks slowly, while praying for the papers to stay intact.
"Hey, Chitoge, you need help?" A familiar voice asks from behind.
She knows who the voice belongs to and continues walking.
"Chitoge, uh, do you hear me?" A mop of dark blue hair appears in the cover of her eyes.
"No thanks," She huffs. "I can manage by myself."
"But you look like you're struggling," he comments. She wants to turn her head and glare at him and declares that she will be fine but she doesn't want to risk it. What if she accidentally drops the papers? All because of one action.
"I'm fine," she says, firmly. She hears a sigh of exasperation.
Suddenly, the white papers that covered nearly most of her vision disappears and the weight in her hands suddenly lightens. She sees him, carrying half of the papers. "Wha-"
"You're a girl, too," he says. "Don't burden yourself and let me help you out sometime. You're strong and all, but it's still pretty difficult to carry it by yourself, right? Don't try to hard, ok? You'll end up exhausting yourself. Take a rest sometime."
He begins to walk and she stands, rooted in place. She's pretty sure her face is red and makes a noise. She lets out a soft and quiet, "idiot" before following him to the faculty office.
she suddenly remembers why
It's those acts of kindness of his that makes her fall in love with him. Although she would never admits it. Not yet.
