Underestimated
Rei knew that people had been underestimating him lately; he therefore made it a point to correct them.
Bryan had underestimated him by assuming that he'd forfeit when it became apparent that his life was in danger.
Rei knew that Bryan was unlikely to do so in their next match. He smiled at the thought.
The nurses at the hospital had underestimated him when they'd left him to his own devices believing him much too weak to make good on his desire to congratulate Tyson in person.
Upon his return the nurses hadn't let him out their sight. Rei laughed when he saw the massive orderly stationed just outside his door.
Kai, secure in his dominance of all those around him, had also underestimated him.
But, as Rei sank his teeth into the shuddering shoulder beneath him, he hoped Kai would give him another reason to prove him wrong.
