He ran, His heart beating as he furiously ran through the fields of Lunatea, making his way to La-Lakoosha. Tired but determined, He had been longing to see her again. How long has it been though? Months? Years? He didn't care as long as if he could see her again... But every home he searched throughout the kingdom, He never found her.
No, No... She HAS to be still be around here. She wouldn't abandon him, She wouldn't forget about him - Could she? Where else could he look at this point? He pondered to himself until he heard a hoarse, rather saddened voice. "Pardon..." The boy turned his body to the direction of the sound, in front of him was a strange hooded figure, their hands clasped together on their chest. "I-I'm... sorry, Dream Traveler..."
"What do you mean?" Klonoa questioned, wondering why this person would have followed him all this way to begin with. The cloaked figure continued to speak "I was told to inform you about this... The one you seek, Lolo. S-She... She passed away." The boy just gave a blank stare in disbelief. Such news was almost too much for the boy to process. "She died years ago, from an illness. Even as years passed she always would talk about the time you came here. Unfortunately her condition was unable to be helped." He continued to just stand there before bolting ahead away from their conversation. This couldn't be happening... After minutes of running, completely drained of breath he stumbled into the local cemetery of the Tranquility Kingdom. Looking around frantically, out of fear until he came across one particular gravestone.
"LOLO - A TRUE PRIESTESS BY HEART, NEVER WILLING TO GIVE UP THEIR LOVED ONES."
Immediately then and there, he felt his heart sink. All this time he had been holding onto the hope he had that he'd eventually see her again someday, But now she was gone... A flurry of emotions assaulted his mind. Sorrow, Guilt, Disbelief... No, no. This was just a bad dream, This wasn't true. It was all lies! But none of this was a dream, He wouldn't wake up. "I should have been there for her." He said to himself. "She wouldn't be dead..." It wasn't long before tears began to freely flow from his eyes as the long eared boy dropped to his knees, his voice cracked with wretched sobs. There was no reset, This couldn't be undone.
He was too late. He quietly began to cry to himself, Consumed by guilt. All this time she never had forgotten about him, She had been waiting this whole entire time. Memories flashing before his eyes as he remembered the time they cherished long ago... Just remembering that bright smile of hers. It was at this point he realized she was much more than a friend. "L-Lolo... I'm sorry..." Klonoa spoke, his voice crackling as he stopped briefly to sob before he whispered one last set of words in front of her grave, laying down with his head buried into his hands. "I... I love you too."
His voice echoing throughout his head.
"I love you too..."
