Tom was getting married.
But his family didn't want him to get married.
The problem with why they thought it was a bad idea was because Tom never meet his fiancee in the real world; that's what his family said anyways.
But to him meeting Sarah in Perim was just as real as meeting her on Earth. His family thought he meet Sarah online, which he kind of did depending on how one looked at it.
To bad he couldn't explain how he really meet the love of his life or how much time they actually spent together everyday in Chaotic and Perim.
She had proposed to him on the Ancestor Walls that surround Kiru City during sunset. It was his favorite place in the Overworld, and she picked his favorite time to be there.
He was happy she did. It would have been hard to find a romantic place in the Danian's land that they could get to and not worry about the tight Danian security. Tom knew he would have gotten them caught, or messed up the proposal in some way knowing his luck.
When he told Maxxor the good news he stared at him with a confused look for a few seconds before asking, "Human females are the ones who do the marriage proposing?" Which lead to him explain how human marriage ceremonies works.
Maxxor's question took him off guard. It is easy for Chaotic players to forget that in Perim males and females have certain roles to do and not to do depending on the gender and which Tribe they belong to. Though females can become warriors, scholars and other careers same as the males, there was still customs they were not allowed to do, proposing marriage being one of them.
Explaining to Maxxor why it shouldn't be wrong for females to propose to males was just as hard as explaining to his parents marrying Sarah wouldn't turn out to be the biggest mistake of his life.
The only way he could get them off his back was if they meet Sarah and decided for themselves if she was good for their son. So he arranged it with Sarah for her to fly to his hometown to meet her future stepparents.
Her parents felt the same way his parents felt, but more out of fear for their daughter's safety. They had all this thoughts and fears of Tom turning out to be a rapist, kidnapper and murderer; so they said they will came with Sarah.
The wedding was three months away.
Tom was getting married to the love of his life.
And he was scared out of his mind at how this meeting will happen.
Note: Don't know when I'll update, but since I have so many other stories needing to be finished this one will be put to the side for now.
