She's not racing anyone today.
Just driving.
When she's going this fast, the young firebender isn't on her mind anymore.
It's as if she's never even met him.
She presses her foot down a little harder.
Now her father fails to exist.
Faster.
It's just her, now.
The rest of the world has faded away.
It's like she's flying, hair whipping behind her.
The wind is cold against her face as a small but genuine smile teases at the corners of her mouth.
She feels...exhilarated.
At this speed, things are exactly as they should be.
At this speed, it's as if she could stay here forever—just driving in loops at high speeds, never stopping.
At this speed, she feels happier than she has been in months.
At this speed, the world can't catch up to her.
AN: Though I've written various fanfics over the years, this is the first one I've published on this account. I hope you enjoyed it. :) This is meant to be a one-shot, but I may write more chapters of similar lengths if inspiration strikes me or people are interested in it.
