An Interesting Challenge
This challenge came about when I was reading through the stories where Godric survives the roof, usually by Sookie saying just the right thing, or just because Godric feels some type of mystical attraction to her. In these stories what happens 9 times out of 10 is Godric, Sookie and Eric form a triangle of OT3 fluff and/or smut, completely out maneuvering Bill, Sophie Anne and any other opponents. When I read these stories the problem that takes me out of them is that this does not match what we know of Eric's personality, namely that he is obsessed with capturing Sookie's attention and affection for himself and it is highly unlikely that he would share with anyone, even his maker. I also have thought that there was a lot of wasted potential in the Godric and Jason interaction, namely that Godric acts as a mentor and Jason is clearly looking for one. Since I have just staring practicing writing myself, I thought I would post this challenge and compare the results to what I have come up with. The terms of the challenge are:
Eric and Sookie end up together
Godric does go to Bon Temps
Godric does not give blood to Sookie
Godric acts as motivation to Jason to better himself, such as leaving the road crew and becoming a deputy, or any other "improvement" the writer chooses, as well as advising Sookie on Eric's behavior
Godric gives Jason the blood to save him after the panther attack
Sookie does spend the year with the fairies
Eric still gets amnesia and starts his intimate relationship with Sookie during that time
These are the guidelines I set for myself to meet. The biggest part of the challenge is not to go to OOC, especially with Eric and Sookie. I know a lot of people can write yaoi or male/male relationship, so if you want to make Godric and Jason a romantic couple for your own enjoyment by all means, go ahead. Also I could not decide if Godric would make Jason into a vampire, so again, your choice.
