Rita Loud awoke to the peaceful falling of snow on Christmas morning. Wait, that didn't seem right! Ever since Lori learned to walk she and her husband had learned to become accustomed to their children bursting in on them wanting to head down to open their presents. She was about to get up and check their rooms when Lynn Sr. came inside with a finger up to his lips.
He lead her downstairs where the tree they and the little ones had spent a day purchasing and then decorating. He motioned for her to keep following him and they came up to the living room couch and chair where they saw their six children still sound asleep.
Young Leni was lying down on the couch with baby Lincoln asleep on her chest. On the other side of the couch was Lori who had little Lynn Jr. wrapped up in her arms like some type of plush toy. In the chair were Luna and Luan wrapped up in a hug.
"They all waited for Santa to come down, but he didn't arrive until they were fast asleep," Lynn Sr. said with a smile.
"It's almost a shame that Lincoln's not going to be able to remember this, I don't think I can imagine a more perfect first Christmas," Lynn Sr. pulled out a camera, and took a photo of his children.
"Moments like this, you just want to bottle them up and hold onto them forever," he said, as the children slowly started to blink themselves awake.
Many years later, the Loud siblings were going through the Christmas album, and they stopped at the one labeled 'Lincoln's First Christmas.' They saw the older ones and Lincoln fast asleep in the living room, so peaceful.
"I remember that, we were so excited to introduce Lincoln to Christmas and we came up with this idea to camp down and wait for Santa Claus, but instead we fell asleep," exclaimed Luan.
"With sisters like you, I could never ask for better Christmas memories," said Lincoln.
