Matt and Mello
Matt was sitting alone in his room at the Whammy's house playing his hand held video game as usual. His goggles were dangling down over his reddish brown shaded hair. He let out a soft sigh, stirring up his bangs hanging over his velvet eyes. He sat in the corner near the wall with his knees to his chest, feeling the slight pains of unusual depression. He wondered if anyone cared that he had been gone, or even noticed for that matter. He sighed again, covering the inside of his goggles with a hazy fog. He leaded his head into his knees, and allowed fragile tears as clear as crystal trickle down his cheeks. Matt wasn't particularlty the one to cry, he was usualy the one to hold everyont together at Whammy's and now he didn't even know why anything was wrong. He always stayed neutral in the fights between Neir and Mello, always making sure they weren't at each other's throats. Matt gasped as he felt a hand on his shoulder, he didn't even notice the door open. It was none other then his friend Mello behind him with a sweet smile. He was knelt down at Matt's level when Matt turned around to see who it was. Mello slightly moved closer to his friend, and slid his hand across both of Matt's cheeks, wiping the tears from his face. He threw himself towards Matt in a friendly hug. Matt was surprised at how much Mello caredand aske dhim, "How did you know I was sad? I didn't think you'd even care I was gone." Mello tilted his head slightly, pulling off Matt's goggles beginning to fix his bangs by running his hands through them. "I knew because when you're sad, I'm sad. I felt something in my stomach when I didn't see you next to me, right on my side. And yeah I cared." Mello leaned forward and planted a soft kiss on Matt's forehead in reassurance. It was a brotherly kiss, Matt understood that much. Matt's heart was still aching, suddenly breaking. He didn't understand why yet, he just knew that Mello had something to do with why it was starting to heal as fast as it injured. Mello stood up and held his hand down to Matt's sad eyes. Matt gripped Mello's hand and pulled himself up and hugged him once more. Mello wrapped his arms around Matt and patted his back lightly. Matt slightly whimpered as he softly spoke, "Thanks Mello." A smile attached itself to both boys with Mello's reply, "Alright softy, let's go feel better." Both boys giggled together as they walked out of Matt's dark room with their arms wrapped aroung each other's shoulders. Matt's depression vanished as a new bond was created between them.
