Iroh stared at the burning ship as he was overwhelmed by so many emotions, disbelief, anger, dread, and pain. Zuko was on that ship, and chances were that he was dead.

" Zuko!" Iroh yelled uselessly. Tears streamed down the old generals face, and he knew from that moment that the murder was Zhao's doing. He also knew that his nephew was the Blue Spirit, and That the Admiral wanted to get revenge for stripping him of the victory of capturing the Avatar. The flames blazed brightly in front of the Dragon of the West, rubbing it in his face that it killed the young prince. " No!" Iroh cried. The tears in his eyes blurred his vision. " Maybe," Iroh said to himself " Maybe he was able to get off the ship. Maybe he was on the deck and jumped off." He walked to the waters edge and began to search for the prince.

Zuko let the tides carry him to shore. The wave slapped him, as well as the piece of driftwood he clung onto onto the sand, and he thanked the spirits that it was the gritty sand not the sharp rocks just feet from where he lay. The prince rolled over and coughed, water coming up from his lungs and out of his mouth. He rolled back onto his back and just looked up at the stars.

" Bastard tried to kill me" he whispered, his body ached from the various cuts, burns, and bruises from the explosion. Where have I seen that Reptile – Bird before? He thought. He recognized the animal, but could not remember, and the recognition scared him. The owner obviously had a big enough grudge against him to help Zhao end him, so that could be any one. The Avatar? But it seemed very unlikely, he did have some type of exotic flying creature, but Zuko didn't think that it was a Reptile – Bird. Also the Avatar was obviously a pacifist, otherwise he'd be dead long before now. Lastly why would the avatar help Zhao when he tried to capture him so many times, then again he wanted to be friends with me after I saved him from Zhao's prison. Even if he did try to help Zhao, he'd arrest him before he could think twice. Then it hit me, the pirates. " Obviously," I said feeling stupid for not realizing this before now. Of course they wanted me dead, I threatened to burn one of their precious curios for something far more valuable.

" Zuko!" I heard him call. His voice was heartbroken, and heartbreaking to hear., but I was too exhausted to call back. " Can you hear me?" he called again. I answered with a moan. My uncle appeared above me.

"Thank the spirits you're alive!" he said. i was afraid his grin would break his face. He embraced me tightly in his arms, making me hiss in pain. " are you all right?" he asked his voice filled with concerned.

" just really bruised up," i answered uncertainly " i think. I'm sure that I'm okay. What are we going to do now?"

" i have a plan..." Iroh said
