A/N: This is the first thing I have written in a very long time. I plan it to be a full fledged story. It will generally follow the Harry Potter books but from a different point of few from a side perspective to the events. I dont expect it to be new fresh and innovative. Its not a new idea from any stretch I'm sure. But i feel compelled to do it anyway.
Prologue
Slytherin, it is a name that when mentioned stirs up all sorts of emotions in people. I have seen a wide range of emotions from pure hate to a feeling of coming home and belonging. Most wizards and witches would never want to Be a Slytherin. We are given a reputation for being an evil house that is up to no good. But really Slytherin is about greatness, striving for the best and receiving the best in return. We are cunning and ambitious going for our goals with a single minded fervor. This can get us into trouble it can go terribly wrong and most people don't understand it at all. And so by outsiders we are hated and ridiculed when we do something they find distasteful to get our goals. But we look out for our own, we become most loyal to each other and usually the best if not only friends for one another. Some are expected to be Slytherin, like the pure-bloods. Others are not, like me for example, I am a half blood. Every now and again there are even muggle-borns sorted into the house. But outsiders would never know, the pure-bloods make sure of that they don't want the Slytherin name to seem weak. And so the rest of the house takes the muggle-borns under their wing. They are taught 11 years worth of wizarding knowledge as quickly and efficiently as possible. I never knew any of this growing up. I didn't know about Hogwarts or magic. I never knew my Mum was a witch, my Father did I guess. But I was raised as a Muggle, with a muggle education.
