The January air is brisk around you as stray bits of wind swirl the falling snow around you like a snow globe, each flake tracing a path in the sky like a shooting star. You sigh and look down at the troll half seated in your lap, his eyes lit up like the stars he is so eagerly waiting for with a hint of a smile curving his lips. You smile at the joy so clearly displayed on his face. The sun begins its decent, pulling with it the last rays of light and fully revealing the night sky.

You wrap your arms around his waist and hold him close. His smile widens as he takes in the sight above him.

You sit with him for hours admiring the stars, fighting a losing battle against the chill in the air.

"Karkat, we should go home before we freeze to death." You say to him, shivering through your thick coat. You nearly can't get him back to the car, but eventually he succumbed to the promise of a warm house and hot cocoa.

On the drive home you swear he's still looking at the sky.
