AN: Another RP journal fic. Taken from a prompt used to portray the relationship between Leonard Mccoy, and Gabriel Gray, from the Heroes fandom. In this story, Gabriel is in 2255, along with Leonard, studying at Starfleet after being transported to the future. Part of an established relationship.

----

Leonard was concerned for Gabriel. A few days had passed since he had spoken to him - albeit briefly - about his father. Leonard wouldn't pretend to know his pain entirely, but he somewhat understood. He had never known his mother, and lived with guilt for her death, just like he did his fathers.

But he was also concerned due to the fact Gabriel hadn't spoken to him in a few hours. Perhaps that sounded clingy, but it was not without reason. They were meant to be going out for something to eat, but the last 6 messages Leo had left him to try to plan their meeting time and place had gone unanswered.

Sighing, he punched in the access code to Gabriel's room, because knocking and letting him know he was there was terribly overrated, only to be met by the sounds of dry heaving. A look of concern immediately spread across his face as Doctor mode kicked in along with boyfriend mode.

"Gabriel?" he called. Following the sounds, he entered the bathroom, his heart breaking slightly as he saw his boyfriend hunched over the toilet with a very green and vulnerable look etched across his face.

"Hey," Gabriel replied weakly, forcing a smile despite his pain. All day he'd felt awful. Vomiting, a temperature, aches in places he had hardly even been aware that could ache until now. He'd wanted to tell Len about it, ask him for help, but every time his eyes fell upon the light on his PADD to send a message, another wave of nausea hit him, due to an unfortunate addition of light sensitivity.

Within seconds, Leonard was there, by his side, holding him with a strong arm, attempting to help him up. "Guessing you're not up for our date?" he asked him with a small smile.

"Sorry," Gabriel replied meekly, earning him a shake of Leo's head and firm press of lips to his hair. Though he knew he was in no state whatsoever to go out, he felt guilty. He knew Leonard had been looking forward to dinner at one of his favorite restaurants.

"Don't be. Bed, come on." He was doing a very quick diagnosis. He'd heard of a virus going round campus with exactly the same symptoms. No hypo he knew of took the virus away; all he had been able to administer had been water, and bed rest. Which was exactly what he intended to make sure Gabriel did.

His boyfriend put up little resistance. The only difficulty Leo had in taking him to his bed was the way his body limply moulded against his, obviously in need of support, hindering the movement of his own. With some effort, he crossed the room towards his waiting bed. Frowning, Leonard rested Gabriel down, calling upon the computer to dim the lights further.

"Now no gettin' up unless you need to, alright?" he stroked Gabriel's hair off of his damp forehead. At least Gabriel had the forethought to be clad in only a pair of sweatpants. Not too much, not much chance of elevating his temperature any more than he needed to.

"Will you stay with me, Len?" Gabriel asked him quietly, hand resting on the space of bed beside him hopefully. Nothing made him feel better, than being in Leonard's

arms.

"Always," he replied gently. He needed no more prompting than that to slide into bed with his love, rest a hand on his waist and to press his lips to his matted forehead. "I ain't goin' anywhere."
