The Things You Do
Takigawa massaged his throbbing temples, wishing he had stolen some of Ayako's Advil earlier that morning. What a day! Some spirit shows up and proceeds to tell me that I'm having emotional problems, the cheeky bastard tells me that writing helps, and then proceeds to vanish in a puff of smoke.
The monk looked down at the blank piece of paper before him and decided What the hell, not like this'll make anything worse. Emotional problems, hmm. Ayako! It's all her fault, she keeps popping up in my head and bothering the hell out of me... Maybe that spirit knew what he was talking about…
Things Ayako Does That Really Piss Me Off
1. Smacks her gum and then refuses to give me any
2. Never has to exorcise any spirits
3. But still exercises more than me, which is infuriating. I'm a guy! Guys are supposed to exercise more than girls!
4. Acts like my mother (Like I need another one...)
5. Taunts me
6. Calls me her 'Pookie'
7. Smacks me… okay, to be fair, she smacks me after I insult her
8. Wears designer clothes while I'm stuck in the sweatpants I scavenged from my roommate's dirty laundry hamper
9. Sings off key
10. Drives like an old person
11. Makes me watch mushy romance flicks
12. Exists
13. Rolls her eyes at me
14. Has a crush on Naru – really, who in their right mind would like that jerk?
15. Brags about her expertise and then expects for me to take care of everything
16. Complains
17. Nags me to clean my apartment. Granted, I probably wouldn't ever do so if she didn't say something...
18. Taps her foot all the time
19. Pretends she's exhausted and makes me do all the work
20. Then makes me hot chocolate afterward and guilt trips me into feeling bad about cursing her as I cleaned her bathroom
21. Eavesdrops
22. Over obsesses about her hair – Honestly! Who needs to brush their hair with exactly 315 strokes every night? I swear she has a few screws loose…
23. Steals my cookies – My mom made those! But the possessive look on her face while she was hoarding them was pretty cute…
24. Counts my carbs – MY carbs. COUNT YOUR OWN CARBS, WOMAN!
25. Steals my heart

"WHAT THE HELL?" Takigawa exclaimed, jumping from his seat and hollering like a madman, "Where'd that come from?"
What if it was true, though? It would make sense, in a way. A crush would explain why every time he's seen Ayako in the last couple months, he's started getting jumpy and nervous. Why he always stammers when he's around her. Why he always feels he had to prove himself. But, then again… who in the world would fall in love with someone like her?

"Dammit!"
