Hero Lucent was dead. There were no ifs, ands, or buts, he was straight up dead. Hero Lucent attended his own funeral. It was fit for a king, which made sense, because that's what he was.
Hero waited for some time, invisible and unnoticed by almost everyone, then his waiting paid off and he went to his wife's funeral with her. They soon left the mortal world and traveled to the realm of the dead together.
The realm was in turmoil, with ghosts sealing their kingdoms from time and attack and others purposely fading, to escape the chaos. Hero and his wife decided to continue as they had died, uniting the world. And so, it became their obsession to unite all the tenants of the ghost zone.
They began by searching for the fabled magical artifacts that granted unspeakable power to the wielder. They traveled across the ghost zone together, searching for the power to unite.
It began as merely a rumor, its origins unknown, of a flaming diadem hidden in the depths of a frozen wasteland.
Hero followed this rumor, flying to the furthest region of the ghost realm to where an icy tundra stretched, untouched by ghost or mortal. There, in the depths of the ancient catacombs, he uncovered the legendary headpiece.
Hero claimed the crown. He knew, however, that it was useless without its brother. Hero and Helen continue their search and eventually hear another rumor, of a skeleton band in a hidden kingdom.
Far above the dead forest, dirty water, and terrified populace of the Kingdom of Aragon, the time-clouds hover. The time-clouds – gifts to Aragon from the ghost of time to protect his kingdom from invaders – have more than one purpose to the residents of the ghost zone.
Deep within the time-clouds is a more solid object, nearly impossible to locate unless you know where and how to find it.
Hero did.
He ventured into the swirling mass of protection and sought out the one remaining piece required to unite the ghost zone and create peace. In the middle of the haze, he found it. A band of magic celestial bronze imprinted with the ancient emerald artifact.
Hero claimed the Ring – as he had done the crown – and bonded to them with his obsession. "Ring of Rage and Crown of Flames, I bond you to unite them." The ring and crown accepted, and a new age was born.
The Golden Age of the Ghost Realm lasted centuries, but all good things come to an end, and this was no exception.
The Council of Protectors beheld the timeline and foresaw that the queen would be the downfall of the United Ghosts. They immediately acted on this information and sent an assassin after the queen.
Hero Lucent was heartbroken by the loss of his queen and was never the same again.
The Council of Protectors returned to the time windows and discovered that the murder of the queen had given the Ghost Realm an even worse fate. All members, devastated by the unforeseen consequences, pledged never to act to alter the future and changed their council to the Council of Observants.
Hero, now that his wife was no longer there to hold him back, became a tyrant. He ruled the Ghost Realm with an iron fist, his lackeys punishing anyone who disobeyed. He changed his name, to escape the memories of his lost love, and all the Ghost Realm feared him.
The reign of Pariah Dark had begun.
