Daniel was intently studying an artifact, so he didn't hear the footsteps that approached his office or the insistent knock on his open door. He didn't hear someone say his name or come up behind him. He nearly jumped off his seat when a hand was placed on his shoulder.
"Doctor Jackson," an eerily familiar voice said.
Daniel slowly turned around and came face to face with himself.
"No, you're not hallucinating," he assured himself. "Quantum mirror."
Daniel nodded. "Ok," he said slowly.
"I need to talk to Jack."
Jack was pretending to be absorbed in recent mission reports so he wouldn't have to tackle the stack of meal requisitions forms that were waiting ominously on Walter's nearby desk.
"Jack," two voices said in unison.
"Daniels," Jack replied with a straight face.
Daniel, the real Daniel, this reality's Daniel...Jack was starting to get a headache thinking about it...rolled his eyes. "How long have you been waiting to say that?"
"Ages," Jack replied.
A/N: I can't be the only one who thinks of Jack Daniels every time Jack and Daniel have a conversation consisting of only their names.
