Valkyrie sat on her bed, her open window allowing the cool autumn breeze to travel into her room and gently tickling her face. She scrolled through her text messages on her phone; the most recent from Fletcher, informing the young elemental that he was coming over to talk about finding Skulduggery. Lost in thought, she didn't realise the rock fly through her window.

Fletcher teleported outside Valkyrie's house. They hadn't known each other for very long, and he had never been in her room, which was the only thing stopping him from teleporting right in there that very second. Fletcher wasn't particularly keen on knocking on the front door like a normal person would, as he would have to deal with an awkward first encounter with Mr. and Mrs. Edgley. Fletcher's mind sparked as his eyes rested on a large rock on the road. After picking it up, Fletcher examined the rock. Should be alright, he thought. Valkyrie won't mind if I throw a rock at her window, right?
After sneaking round the back of the house, where Valkyrie's window was located, (A/N: I honestly can't remember where Val's room is, so don't hate on me if this is wrong) and drew his arm back, the rock resting in his palm. Aiming for Valkyrie's window, Fletcher hurled the rock towards it. Only then did he realise that her window was, in fact, open.
"Oops," He muttered sheepishly.

Valkyrie jumped out of her skin as she heard the sound of glass breaking. She instinctively looked towards the window, but it was open. She slowly turned the other way, only to find her wardrobe door open, an enormous rock nestled on the floor and her mirror, containing her reflection, broken.

The reflection saw the rock fly through the window and straight towards it. It watched as the glass broke, and the image of Valkyrie's room melted away, slipping through its fingertips as it held its hand out. The world around it became disorientated; fragments of the familiar room being placed together incorrectly, like trying to fit puzzle pieces into the wrong spot in the picture. During its time there, it saw terrible, terrible things, like Valkyrie replacing it with a new reflection. Its heart throbbed with hatred and rage, it wasn't fair, it was supposed to be there, not the strange reflection. I will make Valkyrie regret replacing me, I will make Valkyrie regret replacing me. It continued to repeat that sentence in its head for what felt like forever.
It didn't know how long it stayed that way, seconds, minutes, days, and weeks past. The world became clearer right before its eyes, the puzzle had finally been figured out. It saw Valkyrie's father, Valkyrie and a strange man were in front of the mirror. It had been repaired.
The reflection told itself so many times that Valkyrie hadn't replaced it, that everything was fine, it and Valkyrie were still friends; it was still the only reflection in life. But it felt something new, pulling her heart in a new direction. It didn't want to be just a lowly reflection anymore, it wanted to be the only Valkyrie Cain, the only Stephanie Edgley in the world. And that message was still branded into her mind:
I will make Valkyrie pay.
Yeah, I was thinking to myself just now, what made the reflection go rouge? And I came up with this. Keep in mind that this is my first SP fanfic, and I have only read up to Kingdom of the Wicked so far. Please R&R, it would be greatly appreciated.
Bye!
