Axel walked into the hospital room where his wife Ayame stayed. A couple of hours ago, she had given birth to their first son. Ayame smiled when she saw him walk in and held up their son who was wrapped in a fuzzy blue blanket. Axel walked up to the metal-framed hospital bed and sat by his wife. He leaned in and pressed his lips on hers. She passionately kissed him back and asked him to get a glass of water. He picked up a plastic pitcher on the nightstand and noticed the bowl of fruit that sat by it. He made a gesture towards it and Ayame shook her head indicating that she wasn't hungry. He glanced at the cock radio for a moment, he had to leave for work in twenty minutes but he didn't mind being late since his boss was always yelling at him for something him and his co-worker had done wrong in the office.
He looked at his son who was now gnawing on his hands that were covered in tiny mittens. He stroked his son's tiny hand and kissed him on the forehead. He noticed that the television was on and he turned it off. Axel got off the hospital bed and sat on hardback chair. He looked around his wife's room, making sure that it was good atmosphere for her. There was painting of cows grazing in a pasture; the picture fit the occasion at least. A tear ran down his face and he quickly grabbed a tissue from a box of Kleenex, he didn't want his wife to see him cry. He threw it in a nearby trashcan. He took his son from Ayame's arms and cradled him gently. He kissed his son again and closed his eyes thinking about his future with his newborn son.
